Not according to the matching deal page: Popular Science’s sponsored Stack Commerce article lists a Grade A refurbished 2018 MacBook Air at $267.99, not $245, and warns that StackSocial prices can change. Treat $245 as unverified unless the live checkout shows that price and the same configuration.
What the listed offer includes
The August 8, 2026 deal article describes a refurbished Gold 2018 MacBook Air with a 1.6GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD. Its advertised price is $267.99. The article characterizes Grade A units as having at most light wear and no screen wear, and says units are tested, inspected, and repaired. These are seller-page descriptions, not independent findings about a particular laptop. Read the deal listing and confirm the product details and price at checkout.
The matching article does not establish the seller’s current stock, shipping charge, warranty, return period, included charger, or battery condition. Check those terms on the live listing before buying; do not assume the original Apple accessories come with a refurbished unit.

Apple identifies this model as MacBook Air (Retina, 13-inch, 2018). The cited deal configuration pairs its dual-core 1.6GHz Intel Core i5 processor with 8GB of onboard memory and a 256GB SSD. Apple offered other storage configurations, and listed memory configurable to 16GB at order; that does not mean the 8GB in this particular refurbished configuration can be upgraded later. Apple’s technical specifications list the following key features:
- 13.3-inch Retina display with native resolution of 2560 × 1600.
- Intel UHD Graphics 617; the processor’s Turbo Boost is up to 3.6GHz.
- Two Thunderbolt 3 ports using USB-C, which support charging and DisplayPort.
- 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, Touch ID, a 720p FaceTime HD camera, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
- Weight of 2.75 pounds (1.25 kg).
With only two USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports, this Air may need a multiport adapter if you regularly connect USB-A devices, an external display, or other peripherals while charging. First check which charger and cable the seller includes.

Is a refurbished 2018 MacBook Air worth buying?
It may suit someone who wants a light Mac for basic tasks and is comfortable with an older Intel model, but the advertised price alone is not enough to judge the deal. Compare the final checkout total and the seller’s protections with other used or refurbished laptops. Pay particular attention to:

- Battery: Apple rated the 2018 model for up to 12 hours of wireless web use and up to 13 hours of iTunes movie playback under its stated test conditions. Those are manufacturer “up to” figures for the model, not a prediction for an aged battery in a specific refurbished unit. Ask about battery condition and any applicable replacement or return protection.
- Condition grade: Confirm what “Grade A” means for this seller and whether the actual unit has screen marks, dents, or other visible wear.
- Configuration: Verify the 1.6GHz Core i5, 8GB RAM, and 256GB SSD on the live listing or order confirmation rather than relying on a headline.
- Included items and terms: Check for the charger and cable, return window, warranty, shipping cost, and any restocking conditions.
- Software support: Do not assume this model supports the newest macOS release. Apple says Software Update shows updates compatible with the particular Mac; consult Apple’s macOS download and installation guidance and the linked compatibility information for the exact model.

- Read the refurb grade definition and ask how battery condition is assessed for the individual unit.

- Check macOS compatibility for this exact Mac before relying on it for software that requires a recent release.
