It may be a real Dollar General promotion, but the reported prices and coupons are not proof of current stock or authenticity. An October 5, 2026 report listed 30th-anniversary Pokémon TCG products at about $50 for an Elite Trainer Box, $25 for an ex Box, and $16 for a Poster Collection. Check the offer and your local store before making a trip; judge authenticity separately from price.
What does Dollar General reportedly charge?
Polygon’s October 5, 2026 report, reproduced in an accessible copy, described these store prices. They are reported prices, not guaranteed prices at every location or a promise of current inventory.

The report also mentioned a $49.99 claimed MSRP for the Elite Trainer Box from Swaptio, a secondary source; that figure is not independently confirmed official MSRP. No independently verified competing-retailer prices are established here, so these figures do not support a market-wide savings comparison.
Which coupons might apply?
The October 5 report described two separate Dollar General offers. The retailer’s linked offer page did not provide readable terms, so confirm eligibility, dates, and whether offers can be combined in the myDG app or with the store.

How can you check local price and stock?
- Open the myDG app and review current coupon details, including dates, qualifying items, minimum spend, account requirements, and any limits on combining offers.
- Call the exact Dollar General location you plan to visit. Ask whether the specific 30th-anniversary product is in stock and what price the store will charge. The report cautions that the website may misstate store inventory.
- Confirm the product and packaging against Pokémon’s official product information before buying if anything looks unusual. A marketplace listing or search result is a separate offer, with its own seller, price, and authenticity risk.
Does a low price mean the cards are counterfeit?
No. The reported Dollar General promotion and the risk of counterfeit products are separate questions. A low price by itself does not establish that a product is fake, and a retailer promotion does not authenticate every individual listing or item.

Pokémon Support’s guidance, updated May 26, 2026, is: “As a general rule, if the price of a pack seems too good to be true, it probably is.” The support page says a pack priced dramatically below suggested retail price is a near-certain counterfeit warning, but this is a warning sign—not a definitive test of a particular item.
