Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe was announced for overseas Netflix streaming on August 31, 2026. That date has passed, but availability can vary by country, so check your local Netflix catalog. What is the new Gundam movie called?
Its English title is Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe. It is the second film in the Hathaway’s Flash story, based on the novel series by Yoshiyuki Tomino and Hajime Yatate. Why does the headline say five years later?
The first Hathaway film opened theatrically in Japan in June 2021. The Sorcery of Nymph Circe followed in Japanese theaters on January 30, 2026. The five-year interval is between those Japanese theatrical releases; it does not describe the time between the sequel’s cinema debut and its Netflix date.

What is the movie about?
The story takes place in Universal Century 0105, twelve years after Char’s Rebellion. Hathaway Noa leads MAFTY, a resistance movement targeting Federation officials, and prepares an attack connected to the Adelaide Conference. Gigi Andalucia and Federation officer Kenneth Sleg are drawn into the conflict. This is a spoiler-free outline based on the official synopsis.
Shukou Murase directs, with a screenplay by Yasuyuki Muto. Kensho Ono voices Hathaway, Reina Ueda voices Gigi, Junichi Suwabe voices Kenneth, and Soma Saito voices Lane Aim. The film’s listed runtime is 108 minutes. Atom Tickets lists a North American theatrical date of May 15, 2026; that is a regional cinema listing, not a Netflix date.

How was the sequel received in Japan?
Bandai Namco Filmworks reported 2,240,747,860 yen in box-office revenue and 1,343,651 admissions for the film’s first 29 days in Japanese theaters, January 30 through February 27, 2026. The company attributed the figures to Kogyo Tsushinsha and said that this 29-day gross exceeded the first film’s reported final gross of 2.23 billion yen. These are an early dated snapshot and a comparison with the previous film’s final total—not the sequel’s final gross.
