It is not confirmed whether the new GTA 6 screenshot came from a PS5 Pro or a PC. A report by Wukeer dated October 8, 2026, discusses visual details and speculates that it could show a PS5 Pro development build, but the report does not establish the image’s source. Rockstar’s current platform listing names PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S—not PC—and gives a November 19, 2026 release date.
What is known about the screenshot?
The screenshot’s capture platform has not been officially identified in the sources reviewed. Wukeer’s October 8, 2026 report discusses visible details such as reflections and distant shadows, then raises the possibility of a PS5 Pro development build. That is interpretation, not verified provenance; the image alone does not establish whether it came from a PS5 Pro, a PC, or another development setup. Wukeer’s report

Rockstar’s official GTA VI page points readers to official videos, screenshots, and media, but does not identify this particular image as PS5 Pro or PC footage.
Which platforms has Rockstar confirmed?
Rockstar currently lists GTA VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a release date of November 19, 2026. The page also says the game “Plays Best On PlayStation 5.” It does not list a PC version, so the accurate wording is that Rockstar has not listed PC on its current official page—not that a PC release will never happen. Rockstar Games: GTA VI
#1 Best Overall
- Ray Tracing - Immerse yourself in worlds with a new level of realism as rays of light are individually simulated, creating true-to-life shadows and reflections in supported PS5 games.
- Faster Loading - Fast-travel across the map and get back into the game almost instantly with the PlayStation 5 console’s ultra-high-speed SSD and fast load times.
- Stunning Visuals - Experience the vast world in stunning 4K and HDR at 120 FPS (with a 4K and HDR compatible TV or display)
- Breathtaking Immersion - Discover a deeper gaming experience with support for haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and 3D Audio technology.
- Backwards Compatibility - Play over 4,000 PS4 games on PS5. Enjoy faster and smoother frame rates in some of the PS4 console's greatest games.
The “Plays Best On PlayStation 5” wording is an official platform statement. It does not, by itself, confirm a PS5 Pro-only enhancement, graphics mode, or performance target.
Does PS5 Pro support prove the screenshot is from that console?
No. Sony describes general PS5 Pro capabilities, including PSSR upscaling, ray tracing, and higher frame rates in supported games. Sony also says the enhanced features vary by game. Those general hardware capabilities are not confirmation that GTA VI has a specific PS5 Pro mode, much less that this screenshot was captured on a Pro console. Sony: PlayStation 5 Pro

How to read the claims
| Question | What is established | What is not established |
|---|---|---|
| Is the screenshot from PS5 Pro? | Wukeer’s October 8, 2026 report speculates about a PS5 Pro development build. Wukeer | Official confirmation of the capture platform or a GTA VI-specific Pro mode. |
| Is it PC footage? | Rockstar’s current page lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar Games | PC is not listed on the current page, and the screenshot is not officially labeled PC. |
| Is GTA VI enhanced for PS5 Pro? | Sony documents Pro features for compatible games and says feature availability varies by title. Sony | GTA VI-specific Pro support or a mode tied to this screenshot. |
What would confirm the platform?
The strongest evidence would be an explicit platform and capture disclosure from Rockstar or another source with direct, verifiable access to the image’s provenance. Visual quality, reflections, shadows, or general PS5 Pro capabilities are not enough to identify the hardware. For now, treat “PS5 Pro” and “PC” as unconfirmed possibilities, not facts.
