It can be worth it if you already want the carrier’s qualifying plan and will keep service for the full bill-credit term. “Free” usually means monthly credits offset some or all of a financed phone payment—not that you can leave whenever you like with no cost. If the deal requires a pricier plan or an extra line you would not otherwise buy, compare that added service cost with the phone savings before signing up.
What “free” means on a carrier offer
Carriers commonly finance the handset and apply promotional bill credits over time. The credits may depend on keeping a qualifying plan and line active; canceling can stop future credits while leaving the remaining device balance due. AT&T’s current US Razr+ 2026 offer, retrieved October 3, 2026, displays a $9.99 monthly payment after credits for 36 months, requires a new line and eligible unlimited service, and warns: “If svc. canceled, device balance due.” AT&T’s offer terms should be checked at checkout.
T-Mobile’s official promotion terms similarly say credits may stop after cancellation, with the remaining finance balance due. Read T-Mobile’s promotion terms and confirm the exact requirements for the offer you are considering; a past promotion or a headline elsewhere may not describe today’s deal.
How to decide whether the deal saves you money
Compare the entire service cost over the full credit period with what you would realistically pay without the promotion. Include any plan upgrade, new-line charge, taxes, fees, activation costs, and upfront device charges. A large phone credit can still cost more overall if it locks you into a plan that is more expensive than your alternative.

- Confirm the exact phone. Check whether the offer is for the Razr+ 2025 or Razr+ 2026, and record the model number and carrier variant.
- Write down the credit term and requirements. Note the qualifying plan, whether a new line or trade-in is required, when credits begin, and the full number of months you must remain eligible.
- Calculate the service difference. Multiply the monthly cost of the required plan and line by the credit term, then compare it with your actual alternative. Add one-time fees and taxes that apply.
- Check what changes can end credits. Ask what happens if you change plans, pay off the phone early, cancel, or port out. Get the payoff balance and credit rules in writing.
- Compare total cost, not the advertised phone payment. Consider the total you will pay for service and device during the commitment, plus any remaining balance if you leave early.
What the current Razr+ 2026 offer shows
Motorola announced a $1,099.99 unlocked US MSRP for the Razr+ 2026 and availability through Amazon.com, Best Buy, and Motorola.com beginning May 21, 2026. Motorola’s availability announcement provides that context. AT&T lists $1,044.99 retail and shows $9.99 per month after credits over 36 months. Those are distinct prices and terms: the AT&T displayed payment is not evidence of a no-strings free phone, and the offer has the new-line, eligible-plan, and cancellation conditions described above. Check AT&T’s current offer disclosure before deciding.
Older coverage of a “free” T-Mobile Razr+ described the 2025 model, a 24-month credit offer tied to Experience More or Experience Beyond, and a separate $600 offer on most plans. That is a historical example, not a verified current offer for the 2026 phone. The older offer report should not be used to assume today’s phone, term, or eligibility.

Is the phone itself a good fit?
The Razr+ makes most sense if you want a compact flip phone and value its large external screen. Hardware generations matter, however: published tests and support details for the 2025 model do not establish the 2026 model’s performance, battery life, or software-support policy.
Razr+ 2026: published specifications

Razr+ 2025: what published testing says
For the 2025 Razr+, Motorola lists a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, Android 15, a 4,000 mAh battery, 45W wired charging support, and 15W wireless charging support; Motorola says the charger is sold separately. Motorola’s 2025 specifications apply to that generation only.
Tom’s Guide reported responsive normal app use in its Razr+ 2025 review, while noting that the model reused the previous generation’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. In that publication’s battery test, the 2025 Razr+ lasted 12 hours 45 minutes; its results were 13 hours 25 minutes for the 2024 Plus and 15 hours 42 minutes for the 2025 Ultra. These are results under Tom’s Guide’s test method, not guarantees of everyday battery life. Check carrier compatibility before buying
Motorola’s compatibility list for the Razr+ 2025 names AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon as compatible, and marks Boost, Republic Wireless, Ting, and Xfinity Wireless unsupported. Compatibility can vary by exact model and carrier SKU, so confirm the specific 2026 variant with the carrier before relying on those 2025 listings. Check Motorola’s Razr+ 2025 carrier information.

Who should take the offer—and who should pass?
- Consider it if you would choose that carrier and qualifying plan anyway, need or already intend to add the required line, and expect to keep service through the entire credit period.
- Be cautious if you are switching only for the phone, would pay extra for a plan you do not need, may leave before credits finish, or want confidently established long-term foldable durability or software support for the 2026 model.
- Compare alternatives using the same checklist for term length, total service cost, upfront charges, plan and line requirements, trade-in conditions, credit timing, early-payoff and plan-change rules, cancellation balance, and exact phone generation.
