The LG GMG96CRAFT is a 638-litre, four-door-style fridge freezer with a plumbed ice-and-water dispenser, an InstaView panel and Wi-Fi features. Its published figures are 364 litres for the refrigerator and 274 litres for the freezer, with an E energy grade and stated use of 359 kWh a year. Its size, plumbing requirement and energy rating are important to weigh against the convenience features before you shortlist it.
This is a specification-led review, not a hands-on assessment: the available evidence is LG product material, its 2025 product information sheet, a retailer page and the model manual. It does not establish independent performance or reliability.
What capacity does the LG GMG96CRAFT offer?
LG lists 638 litres of total capacity, split between a 364-litre refrigerator and a 274-litre freezer. The freezer figure includes a 15-litre two-star compartment and a 13-litre ice-making room, so the headline total is not all standard refrigerator or freezer storage.
The volumes and energy figures appear on LG’s product information sheet dated 3 January 2025. Use the split, rather than the 638-litre total alone, to judge whether it suits the way your household stores fresh and frozen food.

Will it fit your kitchen and delivery route?
The published dimensions are 914 mm wide × 1792 mm high × 729 mm deep, or 684 mm deep without the door. LG lists the appliance at 148 kg. Its width and depth make it a substantial appliance; check the intended space as well as the route from the entrance to the kitchen.
- Measure the available width, height and depth, and allow for the ventilation clearances specified in the GMG96CRAFT owner’s manual.
- Check door movement against walls, cabinets and islands, including the space needed to open drawers and access stored food.
- Check doorways, hallways, stairs and turns on the delivery route. Ask the retailer or installer whether doors need to be removed to get the appliance into place, and who is responsible for that work.
LG’s UK product page lists the model dimensions and features; the manual is the relevant guide for installation requirements. Confirm clearances against the current manual for the exact model rather than assuming the appliance can sit flush with surrounding cabinets.

Does the dispenser need a water connection?
Yes. LG identifies the GMG96CRAFT as a plumbed model: its ice-and-water dispenser connects to the household water supply. It makes cube and crushed ice and has an automatic Slim SpacePlus ice maker. If there is no accessible water feed where the refrigerator will sit, installation may require additional plumbing or this model may not be practical.

What are InstaView and the other headline features?
InstaView door panel
LG says two knocks on the glass panel illuminate the interior so you can see inside without opening the door. That is the manufacturer’s description of the feature, not independent evidence of reduced energy use or better food preservation. Consider whether seeing the contents through the door is useful enough to matter in your kitchen.
Cooling and defrost features
LG lists Linear Cooling, DoorCooling+ and Total No Frost. It says Linear Cooling limits refrigerator temperature fluctuation to ±0.5°C. These are LG’s stated features and performance claim; the available evidence does not independently verify them or establish how the appliance performs in a particular home.

App and diagnosis features
The listed connected features include ThinQ Wi-Fi and Smart Diagnosis, alongside Express Freeze. LG’s product page identifies these functions but does not establish independent outcomes or a measured advantage over other refrigerators. Check LG’s current app and device requirements if connectivity is important to your decision.

LG’s 2025 product information sheet gives the GMG96CRAFT an E energy grade, estimated consumption of 359 kWh per year and sound power of 40 dB, with sound power grade C. These are product-label and specification values, not independent measurements or a promise of the electricity bill or noise level in a particular kitchen.

Costco UK showed the model at £2,699.98 and out of stock when its page was accessed on 7 October 2026. That is a dated snapshot from one retailer, not a current market-wide price or an indication of availability elsewhere. Check the retailer’s live listing before making a buying decision.
LG’s product page states that compressor parts have a 10-year warranty and also advertises a five-year warranty registration offer. Costco describes a five-year parts-and-labour promotion subject to purchase terms and registration. These statements do not establish that every buyer receives identical coverage. Before purchase, check the offer period, registration deadline, territory, parts and labour covered, and proof-of-purchase rules in the terms applying to your order.
Who should consider the GMG96CRAFT?
The model is most relevant if you want substantial refrigerator and freezer capacity, a built-in ice-and-water dispenser, and features such as InstaView and Wi-Fi, and you can accommodate both its footprint and a water connection. It is less straightforward if your kitchen lacks a suitable feed, the delivery route is tight, or you are seeking a lower published energy grade. The available information supports a comparison of specifications, not a verdict on hands-on usability, long-term reliability or real-world cooling performance.
