The Instax Mini 13 is built to make keepsake selfies easier: it has 2- and 10-second self-timers, Close-Up Mode, a selfie mirror, and an included angle-adjustment accessory. Those features suit party snapshots and group photos, but they do not guarantee good results in dim venues, and concert camera rules vary. Check the venue’s policy before bringing it.
What makes the Mini 13 useful for keepsake selfies?
Fujifilm’s Mini 13 adds two timer choices and a wedge-shaped angle-adjustment accessory intended to help position the camera for hands-free selfies. The 2-second timer is paired with Close-Up Mode for selfies; the 10-second timer gives a group more time to get into the frame. A selfie mirror helps with framing, while automatic exposure adjustment and Close-Up Mode parallax correction are manufacturer-described features. These specifications explain the camera’s intended use, not a guarantee of image quality in any particular room or venue. Close-up distance and framing
The specifications list a normal shooting range of 0.3 m and beyond, and 0.3–0.5 m in Close-Up Mode. Close-Up Mode is the relevant setting for a near selfie; the built-in mirror can help you check the composition before you take it. The camera makes pictures measuring 62 × 46 mm, so the result is a small physical keepsake rather than a large print. Fujifilm’s specifications do not state a separate group-size limit.
Will it work at a party or concert?
The timer and hands-free positioning accessory can help when you want to join a group photo instead of holding the camera. But the published specifications do not establish how well the Mini 13 handles low light, how its flash performs in a concert venue, or whether a particular venue allows it. Indoor lighting, movement, and venue rules can all affect whether it is practical. Check the event’s camera policy, and do not assume that a small instant camera is permitted.

What film and batteries does it need?
The Mini 13 uses Fujifilm instax mini instant film, which is sold separately. Each picture is 62 × 46 mm, and Fujifilm gives an approximate development time of 90 seconds, varying with ambient temperature. Plan for film to be a recurring supply if you expect to take many shots; the camera’s launch price does not include a promise that film is bundled.
Power comes from two AA-size alkaline batteries. Fujifilm also permits two AA nickel-metal-hydride batteries and says not to mix battery types. The listed camera weight is 327 g without batteries, loaded film, or the strap, so the ready-to-use weight will be higher. What did Fujifilm announce about price and availability?
In its March 16, 2026 US announcement, Fujifilm listed a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $93.95 USD for the Mini 13 and said availability was expected in or around late June 2026. The same announcement listed $17.99 USD for its Pastel Galaxy instax mini film variety. These are announced US MSRP figures and expected timing, not a current retailer quote, proof of stock, or a guarantee that film is included. Prices and availability may differ by retailer and region. Fujifilm’s separate Japan announcement, dated April 16, 2026, said the camera would be available there on April 24; that regional date should not be treated as US availability.
Who should consider it?
The Mini 13 makes sense if you want small physical prints and value a timer for self-portraits or group shots. Its central trade-off is straightforward: instant film gives you a tangible keepsake, but each shot uses film, and the published information does not establish performance in challenging concert lighting. Before buying, consider whether you can get instax mini film locally, whether the ongoing film expense fits your plans, and whether the events you attend allow cameras.
