HONOR Play20C appears to be the international counterpart of the HONOR X5d s, but HONOR has not explicitly confirmed that the model names are equivalent. The phones share a 2.01-inch rear display and much of their listed hardware; the clearest reported difference is that the Play20C’s 4GB/128GB configuration uses a UNISOC T615, while other Play20C storage versions and the X5d s are listed with a T610.
Are the HONOR Play20C and X5d s the same phone?
Gizmochina described the Play20C as appearing to be the global version of the X5d s in a report dated October 6, 2026. That is a reported identification, not an explicit confirmation from HONOR. HONOR’s regional product pages show overlapping design and specifications, but do not state that the two model names refer to the same device.
The comparison is therefore useful, but regional specifications should not automatically be treated as interchangeable. The available HONOR pages themselves differ on some details, particularly the rear camera.
What is the chipset difference?
HONOR Ireland lists a UNISOC T615 in the Play20C’s 4GB/128GB configuration and a T610 in other storage versions. HONOR South Africa lists the X5d s with a T610. So the chipset difference applies to one specified Play20C configuration—not every Play20C.

- For USA Buyers: Only work with T-Mobile in the US, as it is not optimized for Verizon and AT&T. This means that as long as there's T-Mobile coverage, it'll work. For Intentional Buyers: Work outside of the USA with any network provider without any restrictions.
- Inner screen: 7.95 inch, 2352 x 2172 Pixels, foldable OLED, 1.07 billion colors
- External screen: 6.52 inch, 2420 x 1080 Pixels, OLED, 1.07 billion colors
- 512GB Storage, 16GB RAM
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite (Gen 5) Mobile Platform, Adreno 840
The listed chip names alone do not establish a real-world performance advantage. The available sources provide no independent benchmark results for these phones, so it would be premature to claim that the T615 configuration is measurably faster.
What does the rear screen do?
HONOR Mexico specifies a 2.01-inch secondary display on the Play20C, and HONOR South Africa lists the same size for the X5d s. HONOR Ireland describes the Play20C’s rear screen as showing call alerts and media playback, with interaction controls. That supports the presence of a small functional display on the back, but not claims about additional functions beyond those HONOR describes.

HONOR’s Ireland Play20C page lists a 13MP rear camera, while its Mexico Play20C page lists 50MP. HONOR’s South Africa X5d s page also lists 50MP. These are conflicting official market-page specifications; the sources do not establish whether the difference reflects regional hardware, a page error, or another variant distinction. Gizmochina reported on October 6, 2026 that HONOR had listed the Play20C on its global site and that a Nigeria listing showed the 4GB/64GB trim at NGN 149,900.
