It may be worth considering for casual rides on paved paths and smooth park trails, but its feature list alone does not make it a premium trail bike. Goplus lists the 20-inch model at 29 lb and the 24-inch model at 31.5 lb—substantial weights to consider for a child’s size and strength. Its product page currently displays $165.99 and marks the bike sold out, while a title-specific listing reports $179.99. Check the seller and availability before treating $180 as the current price.
What does the Goplus kids’ mountain bike include?
Goplus offers 20- and 24-inch versions. The manufacturer lists these features and specifications on its product page; they are manufacturer statements, not results from an independent test.
| Specification | 20-inch model | 24-inch model |
|---|---|---|
| Manufacturer-listed rider height | 48–60 inches | 56–66 inches |
| Manufacturer-listed bike weight | 29 lb | 31.5 lb |
| Manufacturer-listed weight capacity | 110 lb | 110 lb |
| Drivetrain | Six-speed | Six-speed |
| Brakes | Front and rear V-brakes | Front and rear V-brakes |
| Other listed equipment | Front suspension fork, adjustable saddle and handlebar, pneumatic tires, reflectors, and bell | |
The Goplus page displayed a price of $165.99 and sold-out status when accessed October 3, 2026. A separate title-specific listing states $179.99, but does not settle the current seller or stock status. Treat either price as time- and seller-dependent rather than a guaranteed offer.
Is it suitable for your child and the routes they ride?
Start with fit, not wheel size
The listed height bands overlap: a child between 56 and 60 inches falls within both Goplus ranges. Height alone cannot decide which model fits. Consumer Reports recommends checking standover clearance and adjusting a child’s bike properly. Have the child try it, check that they can reach the handlebars comfortably, and confirm they can operate the brake levers with control.
#1 Best Overall
- 【Easy Shifting with Shimano Derailleur】 Featuring Shimano 7-speed derailleur, the 20-inch/24-inch mountain bike ensures easier climbing and smoother shifting for different riding conditions. Young riders can enjoy better control and easier pedaling on flat roads, mild slopes, and changing terrain.

It helps teens maintain a comfortable riding posture, improving control and reducing fatigue during outdoor adventures. Plus, the locking device makes it easy to fix the seat height.
- 【Safe Brake & Long-lasting Use】 Dual handbrakes provide quick braking with shorter distance. Moreover, front & rear V-brakes allow for reliable stopping performance. Kickstand makes the bike easy to park. High carbon steel frame is also strong enough to withstand daily bumps.
- 【Quality Tires for Various Roads】 Built with front suspension fork, the shock-absorbing rubber tires offer steady rides on different roads, such as the mountain road, lawn, gravel road, and snow road. The tires are also anti-slip and wear-resistant.
- 【Pre-assembled Teen Bicycle】 The cycling bike comes 85% pre-assembled for simple and quick setup. With fewer installation steps required, riders can spend less time assembling and more time enjoying the road, bringing much convenience.
Weigh the bike against the rider
Consumer Reports gives a general rule of thumb that a child’s bicycle should weigh no more than about one-third to one-half of the child’s weight. This is guidance, not a study statistic. The manufacturer-listed 29 lb and 31.5 lb weights make the ratio worth checking before purchase, especially for a lighter child. A bike that is difficult to manage can undermine the benefits of its gears or suspension.
Match the equipment to the terrain
Goplus markets the bike for varied surfaces, but the available product information does not establish how durable it is on demanding trails. Paved paths and smooth park trails are a more cautious use case than repeated rides over rough or technical terrain.

A front suspension fork can cushion bumps on some children’s mountain bikes, according to REI. But Goplus does not state the fork’s travel, spring rate, or adjustment for a child’s weight. The presence of suspension is not enough to conclude that the ride will be plush or that the bike is suited to technical trails.

Gears can help on hills and varied terrain, but they add controls a child needs to learn and use. REI notes that a single-speed bike is simpler and lighter; gears may make sense when a child rides hills or mixed terrain. Trek describes its Wahoo 1×9 setup as helping children climb and learn shifting, but that comparison does not establish the Goplus’s gear range or shifting controls.

Likewise, suspension is not a benefit in every situation. On smoother routes, fit, manageable weight, and reliable brake operation may matter more than a fork whose performance details are not published. Consider the equipment in relation to the child and the routes they will actually ride, rather than counting features.
What to check before buying
- Fit: Try the bike and check standover clearance, reach, and brake-lever operation; do not choose by wheel diameter alone.
- Manageability: Compare the manufacturer-listed bike weight with the child’s weight and ability to handle the bicycle.
- Braking: Confirm the child can reach and operate both V-brake levers, and have the brakes adjusted correctly.
- Setup: Ensure assembly and adjustment are correct before riding, and use a properly fitted helmet.
- Price and stock: Verify the exact model, size, seller, current price, and availability. The current Goplus page shows sold-out status, and the cited prices differ.
If assembly or ongoing adjustment matters, account for what the actual seller provides. REI says it provides one year of free adjustments on bicycles bought from REI; that service does not apply automatically to a Goplus purchased elsewhere.

How should you compare it with another kids’ bike?
Use the same practical criteria for each candidate. Trek’s Wahoo page is an example of a kids’ model described for off-road riding, and REI’s REV listing is a retailer-backed example with stated fit information and one year of adjustments for REI purchases. Those descriptions do not establish equivalent independent durability data or total ownership cost.
