No—the Fujifilm X100V should not be described as unconditionally dustproof. Fujifilm describes an optional weather-resistant setup: install the AR-X100 adapter ring, then attach a PRF-49 or PRF-49S protective filter. That manufacturer claim is for a weather-resistant configuration, not an absolute guarantee against dust or water.
What Fujifilm says about dust protection
Fujifilm’s UK product listing describes its X100V Weather-Resistant Kit as adding weather resistance to the camera. The kit includes an adapter ring and a protective filter. The official materials cited here do not give the X100V an IP dust-ingress rating, a quantitative dust-test result, or an unconditional dustproof guarantee. Accordingly, “weather-resistant with the specified kit” is more accurate than “dustproof.”
Weather resistance is a qualified description, not a promise that the camera can be used safely in every dusty, wet, or otherwise harsh environment. The specifications Fujifilm publishes for operating temperature and humidity are operating conditions, not an ingress-protection rating.

Which parts make up the weather-resistant setup?
For the manufacturer-described setup, use the Fujifilm AR-X100 adapter ring with a PRF-49 or PRF-49S protective filter. Fujifilm lists these parts as compatible with the X100V. Its manual also allows third-party filters to be fitted after the adapter ring, but the cited official sources do not establish that every third-party combination has the same specific weather-resistance claim.

How to install the parts
- Remove the X100V’s front ring as directed in the camera manual.
- Attach the AR-X100 adapter ring in its place.
- Fit the PRF-49 or PRF-49S protective filter to the adapter ring.
The order matters: Fujifilm’s manual specifies attaching the adapter ring before the filter. A ring by itself is not the complete weather-resistant kit Fujifilm describes. What the operating specifications do—and do not—tell you
Fujifilm lists the X100V’s operating temperature as 0°C to +40°C and its operating humidity as 10% to 80%, with no condensation. These are the camera’s stated operating conditions; they do not measure dust ingress or confer a dust-protection rating. Fujifilm’s X100V technical specifications do not state an IP dust rating or a quantitative dust test result.

Practical guidance for dusty conditions
- If you want Fujifilm’s described weather-resistant configuration, fit both the AR-X100 ring and the PRF-49 or PRF-49S filter in the specified order.
- Do not treat that setup as proof that the camera is dustproof, waterproof, or safe in every environment.
- Do not assume an unverified third-party filter combination carries Fujifilm’s specific kit claim.
- Check current local availability before buying: the UK listing showed the black kit out of stock when reviewed, but that observation does not establish stock elsewhere or at a later date.
