These are different measures: use the 538L listed volume when considering the stated compartment volumes, and do not treat the gross figure as additional usable space.

The flexible compartment’s mode changes let you allocate that 99L section to chilled or frozen storage as your needs change. The manufacturer says the feature is intended to support “optimal storage,” but the available product information does not provide independent food-freshness test results.
How does the variable-temperature compartment work?
The lower-right compartment can be set to Chill, Fridge, Soft Freeze or Freezer. Fisher & Paykel specifies Chill at -1.5 to 0°C and Soft Freeze at -10 to -6°C in the product information and quick reference guide. Those ranges are the manufacturer’s specifications; the sources do not establish independently tested temperature consistency or food-life outcomes.

This compartment is useful if your storage needs vary—for example, if you sometimes need more space for chilled food and at other times want additional freezing capacity. It is not a separate full-size freezer: its stated volume is 99L.

Will it fit your kitchen?
The refrigerator measures 1790 mm high × 905 mm wide × 688 mm deep. The quick reference guide calls for at least 30 mm of clearance behind the appliance and 20 mm at each side and above. Allow for those clearances in addition to checking the appliance dimensions against the intended space.

- Check the delivery route through doorways, hallways and turns; a refrigerator that fits its final space may still be difficult to bring inside.

Fisher & Paykel Australia lists a 4-star energy rating and energy use of 396 kWh/year. That figure is the manufacturer’s stated annual consumption, not a household electricity bill. To estimate a bill, multiply the stated kWh by your electricity tariff and account for how your actual use may differ from the conditions behind the rating.
