Yes—Eight Sleep has made the Pod 6’s most conspicuous powered component smaller and given it a more considered finish. The company says the Hub is half the size of earlier versions, can fit beneath most standard bedframes, and has a ribbed exterior intended to look less out of place when left visible. But the mattress cover still sits on top of your bed, and the Hub still needs space, ventilation, and cable routing. Whether the setup looks better in your bedroom depends on your bed and tolerance for connected sleep gear.
What makes the Pod 6 look less conspicuous?
The change is mainly the Hub: the powered unit that supports the temperature-control system. Eight Sleep says it is half the size of its predecessors and describes its new ribbed exterior as a more home-friendly design. “Half the size” is the company’s comparison; its launch materials do not specify the measurement basis. The official Pod 6 product page lists the Hub as 6.5 inches wide, 7.87 inches high, and 16.54 inches long.
If the Hub fits under your bed, it can be less visible than a unit beside the nightstand or on the floor. If it has to stay exposed, the ribbed finish may look less utilitarian, but that is a matter of taste—not an independently established aesthetic result. The cover itself remains a one-inch-thick textile layer designed to fit over an existing mattress. The Pod 6 is therefore not an invisible system or a replacement mattress.

Use the published dimensions as a starting point, then check the actual space and cable path on your frame. Eight Sleep says the Hub fits under most standard bedframes, but that does not establish fit for every frame or bedroom.

- Measure the lowest clearance beneath the frame, including any crossbars or drawers.
- Compare the opening with the Hub’s listed dimensions: 6.5 inches wide, 7.87 inches high, and 16.54 inches long.
- Allow room to position the unit and route its connection without pinching or sharply bending cables.
- Check ventilation requirements and keep the Hub accessible enough for setup and maintenance.
A frame with drawers, a low solid platform, or limited access may make under-bed placement impractical even if one dimension appears to fit. Confirm current placement guidance and compatibility with Eight Sleep before ordering.
Pod 5 and Pod 6: what changed?
Eight Sleep’s launch materials describe changes beyond appearance. The figures below are company-published comparisons, not independent test results.

Eight Sleep also describes replacing the filter insert with a liquid solution for periodic maintenance. The available product information does not establish a maintenance schedule or retail availability for that solution, so check the current instructions before relying on it.

How much does Pod 6 cost?
Prices vary by configuration, market, and whether a plan is included. Eight Sleep’s September 22, 2026 launch article says Pod 6 starts at $1,999, lower than Pod 5’s $2,799 starting price; the launch entry price is tied to Solo sizes. Tom’s Guide reported the launch starting price as $1,999 in the US and £1,799 in the UK, also attributing the lowest entry price to Solo sizing.
The official product page captured on October 7, 2026 displayed $2,899 for Pod 6 and an Autopilot Enhanced plan at $25 per month or $299 billed annually, for a displayed $3,198 total with the plan. That page figure is not the same configuration as the $1,999 launch entry price. Check the live checkout for your size, location, and plan selection; displayed prices and terms can change.
The same product page advertised a 30-night trial, free returns, free shipping, and a five-year warranty when accessed on October 7, 2026. These are changeable seller terms, so confirm the terms that apply in your region before buying.

Are the performance improvements independently verified?
Not by the launch coverage cited here. Eight Sleep claims a 20% faster temperature response and reports higher thermal-engine wattage and more biometric sensors. Tom’s Guide’s September 23, 2026 launch article said it had requested a review sample and discussed anticipation rather than completed hands-on testing. The available coverage does not establish independent Pod 6 results for cooling, noise, or tracking.

For that, the practical questions are where the Hub can sit, whether the cables can be routed cleanly, and whether you are comfortable with a cover and connected equipment remaining visible on the bed.
Who is most likely to notice the design improvement?
- More likely to benefit: someone whose frame has usable under-bed clearance and who wants to move the powered unit out of sight.
- May see a modest difference: someone who must keep the Hub visible but prefers its new ribbed finish to a more appliance-like box.
- May not find it a meaningful change: someone bothered chiefly by the cover on the mattress, exposed cables, or the presence of connected sleep equipment.
Pod 6 is a less visually intrusive arrangement by design, not a guarantee of a cleaner-looking bedroom. The smaller Hub gives you another placement option; your frame and room determine whether that option works.
