No current 27% discount is verified. The offer behind this headline was reported on November 26, 2024: $319.99, compared with a stated $439.99 list price. That was a historical deal, not confirmation of today’s price or availability.
What was the ASUS CX34 deal?
On November 26, 2024, ExtremeTech reported an Amazon price of $319.99 against a stated $439.99 list price and described the reduction as 27%. Read ExtremeTech’s deal report. PCMag reported the same two prices for a CX34 configuration in its deal roundup that day. See PCMag’s roundup.
The prices imply a reduction of about 27.3%, which rounds to 27% to the nearest whole percentage point. That arithmetic describes the 2024 prices only; it says nothing about a current offer.
Which CX34 configuration was covered?
PCMag identified the deal model as an ASUS Chromebook Plus CX34 with an Intel Core i3 processor, 256GB of storage, and a 14-inch display. The family name alone does not establish that another CX34 listing has the same components. Check the exact model number and specifications on any listing before comparing its price with the historical deal.

Is the old “top-rated” claim still current?
PCMag’s 2024 roundup described the CX34 as an Editors’ Choice and its Best Chromebook of 2023. Those are historical editorial judgments, not evidence of a current ranking or recommendation. The roundup also praised the laptop’s MIL-SPEC 810 durability and full port selection, and associated Chromebook Plus with improvements such as a faster processor and higher-resolution camera; those descriptions should not be treated as independent confirmation of every CX34 configuration.
What to check before buying one now
- Price reference: Compare the current price with a clearly stated, credible reference price. A past discount does not establish today’s savings.
- Exact configuration: Match the processor, storage, display, and model number to the device you intend to buy.
- Fit for your needs: Consider whether the Chromebook Plus experience, display, and available ports suit your work and accessories.
- Purchase terms: Confirm seller, warranty coverage, and return terms on the current listing.
No current seller inventory, listing configuration, or price is established here, so the 2024 Amazon deal cannot be presented as live.
