The drive behind the $0.12-per-GB headline is the Acer Predator GM7 2 TB, a PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD. PC Gamer reported it at $245.99 on Amazon on June 24, 2026, but that is a historical offer—not a confirmed October Prime Big Deal Days price. Whether it is still good value depends on today’s listing, the total delivered cost, your capacity needs, and whether your device supports it.
What was the $0.12-per-GB offer?
PC Gamer’s June 24, 2026 deal report listed the Acer Predator GM7 2 TB at $245.99 on Amazon, or about $0.12 per GB, against a stated former price of $289.99. The same report gave rated sequential speeds of up to 7,400 MB/s read and 6,500 MB/s write. These are publisher-reported deal and specification figures, not a live price check or an independent test. Read PC Gamer’s June deal report.
The title’s “best value” claim describes that article’s comparison at the time. It does not establish that the GM7 is the best-value 2 TB SSD today—or that the June price is available during October Prime Big Deal Days, which runs October 6–7, 2026. The reviewed October coverage does not confirm the GM7’s current Amazon price, seller, stock, or delivery terms.
How does it compare with the other cited deals?
The clearest distinction is between unit price and performance. In PC Gamer’s June comparison, a larger, slower drive had the lower cost per GB, while the GM7 offered higher rated sequential speeds. The Crucial P310 was a close same-capacity price comparison, but its listing was associated with Amazon Germany.

| Drive | Reported offer and context | Rated sequential read/write | What the comparison shows |
|---|---|---|---|
| Acer Predator GM7, 2 TB | $245.99 on Amazon, reported by PC Gamer June 24, 2026; about $0.12/GB | Up to 7,400/6,500 MB/s | PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2; the drive behind the headline |
| Crucial P310, 2 TB | $246.51, reported by PC Gamer June 24, 2026; listing associated with Amazon Germany | Up to 7,100/6,000 MB/s | PCIe 4.0; PC Gamer says it uses QLC memory and has no DRAM cache. Import costs and delivery may affect the comparison. |
| Team Group T-Force G50, 4 TB | $399.99 at Newegg, reported by PC Gamer in June 2026; $0.10/GB | Up to 5,000/4,500 MB/s | Twice the capacity and lower unit cost than the GM7 in that comparison, but rated slower |
| Samsung 9100 Pro, 2 TB | $334.99 at Amazon, listed by Tom’s Hardware on October 7, 2026 | Not stated in the cited October deal listing | PCIe 5.0, so it is not a like-for-like price comparison with the June PCIe 4.0 GM7 offer |
PC Gamer’s June value comparison explains the lower unit cost for the 4 TB T-Force G50 and describes it as slower than the GM7. See PC Gamer’s June value analysis. Tom’s Hardware’s Samsung price is a current October deal snapshot, not a comparison against a verified live GM7 offer. See Tom’s Hardware’s October roundup.
What should you check before buying?
- Current total price: Check the exact capacity, seller, stock, shipping, and any import charges on the listing. Compare the delivered total, not just a headline price.
- Cost per GB: Divide the current price by the listed capacity using the same units when comparing drives. A larger SSD may cost less per GB while still costing more upfront.
- Compatibility: Confirm that your computer or console supports an M.2 NVMe SSD and the drive’s PCIe generation. A PCIe 5.0 model is not automatically a better-value choice for a PCIe 4.0 system.
- Capacity and workload: Choose capacity for the amount of games and other data you need to keep installed. Rated sequential speed is one specification; it does not by itself settle which drive is best for your workload.
For many gaming PC storage upgrades, PC Gamer’s October 6 roundup recommends an M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD of at least 1 TB and notes that 2 TB can be a useful capacity target. That is gaming-oriented guidance, not a universal requirement for every device or user. Read PC Gamer’s October SSD roundup.

Is the GM7 still the right value choice?
The June deal made the Acer Predator GM7 a compelling performance-oriented option at its reported price: it offered 2 TB and higher rated sequential speeds than the cited 4 TB T-Force G50, while the G50 cost less per GB. But the June price cannot answer what to buy in October. If you find the GM7 near that historical price, compare it with current same-capacity PCIe 4.0 listings and confirm your device compatibility. If capacity per dollar matters most, include larger drives in the comparison; if you are considering a PCIe 5.0 model, first check whether your system can use that generation.
