The 65-inch Hisense U6 Pro is a bright Mini-LED TV with strong contrast and an unusually capable gaming feature set for its tier. But “unbeatable brightness” overstates the case, and its high refresh rate does not guarantee clear motion: RTINGS found fast action looks blurry. The U.S. model covered here is the 65U6SF Pro, not the non-Pro U6SF or a regional U6 variant.
Which 65-inch Hisense U6 Pro is this review about?
For the U.S. market, the model is the Hisense 65U6SF Pro, a 65-inch Mini-LED 4K Fire TV. RTINGS says it purchased and tested this Pro model and distinguishes it from the less bright, lower-zone non-Pro U6SF. Results for other regional U6 models should not be assumed to apply to this set.
How good is the picture in a bright room?
Brightness and contrast are among the U6SF Pro’s strongest points. RTINGS found it bright enough to overcome glare in SDR, with good HDR peak brightness; its local dimming also produces excellent contrast in many scenes. That makes it a promising choice for a room with daylight or some ambient light, though it does not establish that the TV is the brightest option in its class.

1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTom’s Guide measured 358 nits of SDR brightness and 1,265 nits of HDR brightness, both at a 10% window under its 2026 test conditions. Those are lab measurements, not guaranteed results for every scene, picture mode, or viewing environment. In the same outlet’s comparison, HDR brightness was 2,270 nits for the TCL QM7L, 770 nits for the Samsung S85H, and 2,866 nits for the Hisense U7. The U6SF Pro is strong in that group, but it was not the leader.
#1 Best Overall
- HI - QLED MINILED: Striking contrast and vivid, lifelike color put every scene in a new light. Whether it's a sunny landscape or a candlelit drama, the picture leaps off the screen. Mini-LED backlighting uses hundreds of precise light zones to enhance contrast across the screen. Paired with Hi-QLED technology, every color comes through with stunning depth and accuracy
- NATIVE 144HZ REFRESH RATE: Fast breaks, high-speed chases, live finales — every frame stays crisp and fluid, so the action is always exactly where you need it to be. Native 144Hz refresh performance keeps movement fast and sharp, reducing blur during gameplay and live sports. The quick response helps you stay in control during competitive gaming while making rapid camera shots in shows and movies easier to follow
- BUILT-IN SUBWOOFER: Immersive deep bass from the built-in subwoofer pulls you into the heart of the moment, from the rumble of an explosion to the thump of your favorite song. Feel like you’re a part of the action
- ANTI-REFLECTION & GLARE-FREE: Bright rooms are no match for this screen. The anti-reflection and glare-free display keeps your view clean and distraction-free, so you stay focused on what matters — the show
- UNIBODY SLIM DESIGN: Edge-to-edge display and a seamless design that disappears into your room — so all you see is the picture
Tom’s Guide also recorded Delta-E 1.58 and 98.85% Rec. 709 coverage and praised color accuracy and skin tones. RTINGS, however, found noticeable uniformity issues and image degradation when viewed from the sides. Picture consistency can therefore depend on the sample and seating position; a centered seat is the safer choice.
Is it good for gaming?
On features and input responsiveness, the U6SF Pro is well equipped. RTINGS reports 4K at up to 144Hz, 1080p at up to 240Hz, VRR support, very low input lag, and HDMI 2.1 bandwidth on two of the four inputs. Tom’s Guide lists FreeSync Premium Pro, VRR, and ALLM, and measured 9.3 ms of input latency in its 2026 console testing. Input latency measures the delay between a control and the displayed result; it is not the same as pixel response time, which affects how sharply moving objects appear.

- 65-INCH ULED DISPLAY: Enjoy an expansive 65-inch screen with Hisense ULED technology, designed to deliver vibrant colors, enhanced contrast, and an immersive viewing experience.
- 4K ULTRA HD RESOLUTION: Experience crisp, detailed visuals with 4K Ultra HD resolution, bringing greater clarity to movies, TV shows, sports, gaming, and other content.
- HDR PICTURE QUALITY: HDR technology enhances compatible content with improved contrast, brightness, and color detail for a more dynamic and lifelike picture.
- VIDAA SMART PLATFORM: Easily navigate entertainment, streaming services, apps, and other content with the convenient Vidaa smart TV platform.
- IMMERSIVE HOME ENTERTAINMENT: The spacious 65-inch display makes this Hisense U6 Pro TV a versatile choice for movie nights, sports, gaming, and everyday viewing in your home.
That distinction is the key gaming caveat. RTINGS found very slow response time and significant motion blur in fast games and sports. Tom’s Guide’s hands-on gaming impression was more positive, but a 144Hz or 240Hz mode alone cannot resolve the response-time concern. The set may suit players who value refresh-rate and VRR support, but motion-sensitive players should weigh the blur concern heavily.
Plan the HDMI connections before setup
Only two of the four inputs provide HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, according to RTINGS. If you have several devices that need high-bandwidth connections, such as a console and a gaming PC, decide which will use those ports before installation. The remaining inputs may not provide the same bandwidth.

What are the main trade-offs?
| What matters | What the evidence indicates |
|---|---|
| Bright-room viewing | RTINGS found SDR brightness sufficient to overcome glare; Tom’s Guide measured 358 nits SDR brightness at a 10% window in its 2026 test. |
| HDR highlights and contrast | Tom’s Guide measured 1,265 nits HDR brightness at a 10% window; RTINGS found good HDR peak brightness and excellent contrast in many scenes with local dimming. |
| Fast motion | RTINGS found significant blur from very slow response time, despite the high refresh-rate modes. |
| Gaming connectivity and features | VRR and high refresh rates are supported; HDMI 2.1 bandwidth is available on two of four inputs, according to RTINGS. |
| Viewing position and consistency | RTINGS found side-view image degradation and noticeable uniformity issues. |
For a comparison with another television, prioritize like-for-like brightness measurements, motion clarity, local dimming and blooming, viewing angles, uniformity, full-bandwidth HDMI port count, sound, and the price available when you shop. RTINGS describes the U7SG as brighter and better at handling motion, while its comparison with the TCL QM6K frames the Hisense as stronger in brightness and contrast and the TCL as smoother in motion. Those are specific comparisons, not a guarantee that either alternative is better for every buyer.

Who should buy the 65-inch U6 Pro?
- Consider it if bright-room performance, strong contrast, VRR, and high refresh-rate support matter more to you than the sharpest fast motion.
- Look more closely at alternatives if you are especially sensitive to blur in sports or fast games, sit far off-center, or need more than two HDMI 2.1-bandwidth inputs.
- Compare current prices rather than relying on the September 2026 sale snapshot, and confirm the listing is for the 65-inch U.S. 65U6SF Pro.
