The 48-inch LG OLED evo C5 is a capable gaming TV, with four HDMI 2.1 ports, VRR support up to 144Hz, and features including ALLM and Game Optimizer. Those features make it a flexible choice for compatible gaming devices, but they do not mean GTA VI requires this TV or will run at 144Hz. Rockstar lists the game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Which 48-inch LG OLED is this?
The model at issue is LG’s 2025 OLED evo C5. LG UK identifies its 48-inch regional version as OLED48C55LA. Model suffixes and availability differ by market, so check the exact model code on the listing in your country rather than treating the UK code as universal.
What makes the C5 suitable for gaming?
HDMI 2.1 and refresh-rate support
LG lists four HDMI 2.1 ports and VRR (variable refresh rate) support up to 144Hz across the C5 sizes, including the 48-inch model. The maximum refresh rate is relevant to compatible inputs and games; it is not a guarantee that every connected device or title can use 144Hz. LG’s specifications also list ALLM, G-SYNC compatibility, AMD FreeSync Premium, HGiG, and Game Optimizer. See LG’s 48-inch C5 product page for the regional model’s features.

LG advertises a 0.1ms pixel response time. That describes how quickly pixels respond; it is not an input-lag measurement. TechRadar’s James Davidson reported measuring 9.2ms of input lag for the C5 in an October 5, 2026 article, but the article does not establish that the tested TV was specifically the 48-inch version. Treat that figure as the publication’s C5 test result, not a size-specific measurement or a result from this article’s author.

Is the C5 a GTA VI-specific upgrade?
No. The C5’s gaming features are useful more broadly, but the available official listings do not say that GTA VI requires this TV or supports a particular refresh rate on it. Rockstar’s support page lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as platforms. A PlayStation Blog post dated June 24, 2026 states a release date of November 19, 2026; release timing can change, so treat that as the date in that post, not a guarantee.
If you are choosing a TV for a console, the C5’s HDMI 2.1 ports and VRR are relevant compatibility features. They do not establish the game’s eventual resolution, frame rate, or HDR behavior. Those details are not confirmed by the cited platform and date announcements.

What should you know about OLED care?
OLED image retention is worth factoring into everyday use, especially if the screen often displays static elements for long periods. LG says: “Pixel Cleaning reduces, but does not eliminate, the risk of permanent image retention (‘burn-in’).” Avoid leaving static images on screen for extended periods, and leave the TV plugged in after turning it off so its automatic cleaning process can complete. What if you plan to wall-mount the 48-inch C5?
Check the manual for the exact regional model before buying a bracket. LG says compatible brackets can vary by country, screen size, and model year; do not assume that a mount compatible with another C5 size or a different regional model will fit. Consult the model-specific documentation linked from LG’s UK product page.

Should you choose it?
The 48-inch C5 is a strong fit if you want a relatively compact OLED TV with multiple HDMI 2.1 ports and modern gaming features for compatible devices. It is not a confirmed GTA VI requirement, and its 144Hz specification should not be read as a promise about console performance in that game. Make the decision based on your room, connected devices, regional model and price, and whether OLED care suits your viewing habits.
