Super Mario Bros. Wonder is not getting an announced official PC release. A developer says an unofficial project can run the Nintendo Switch game natively on Windows and Mac, and boot on Android. But its repository is private, there is no public release date, and the demonstrations do not make it a downloadable PC game yet.
Is Super Mario Bros. Wonder coming to PC?
There is no official PC version announced in the available sources. The project in development is unofficial: its author, BelmanteGu, says it runs on Windows and Mac and boots on Android. TechEBlog separately reported a Windows demonstration on October 2, 2026; the project author’s own post, published October 3, provides the implementation details and reported performance figures. A working demonstration is not the same as a public release. The author says the repository is still private and gives no release date. The stated plan is to publish the recompiler, the NVN-to-Vulkan layer, and NVN documentation later.
What “native port” means in this project
According to the author, the project statically recompiles the Switch’s ARM64 code ahead of time into portable C++, rather than running it through a just-in-time compiler or interpreter. The author also says the game’s NVN graphics driver is recompiled, while a custom layer replays the recorded graphics work as Vulkan draws. “Native” describes this reported implementation approach; it does not mean Nintendo made or endorsed a PC edition.

- Ease into the action with four different-colored Yoshis and Nabbit who can’t take damage
- Discover new power-ups like Elephant Fruit, which transforms Mario and friends into an elephant that can swing its trunk and spray water
The author says 12,717 shader programs translate. An opening scene reportedly staged 312 MB of textures at once, exceeding a 256 MB upload ring; the team changed its buffer handling in response. The author also reports that adding an on-disk pipeline cache cut warm-start pipeline creation time across a course from 1.2 seconds to 0.36 seconds. These are project-author-reported development details, not independent measurements.
What the demonstrations show—and what they do not
The author describes the Windows build as reaching the title, menus, character selection, opening cutscene, world map, and course 1-1. Reported frame rates are demonstrations on named devices, not independent benchmarks or hardware recommendations:
| Device | Author-reported result | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Apple M1 Mac | About 58 fps median in course 1-1 | Project-author report; not an independent test |
| Windows laptop with RTX 3050 | About 58 fps median in course 1-1 | Project-author report; the laptop is a demonstration device, not a published requirement |
| Samsung Galaxy S23 | Boots and renders at a reported 40–60 fps | Author describes Android support as early; correct textures and playable-course support remain future work |
The author’s listed next steps include maintaining 60 fps in a Windows window, testing Intel UHD 770 integrated graphics, and improving Android textures and course playability. The available figures do not establish how the port performs across other hardware or in a full playthrough.

How the unofficial project compares with the official game

Nintendo describes local multiplayer for up to four players and online play that requires a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Its US product page is the official source for the Switch game and its Switch 2 support: Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros. Wonder page.
What to know about access and legality
The author says the project runs only from a user’s own legally dumped game and that no game files are shared. That is the creator’s description of how the project is intended to work, not a legal determination. No regulator, court, or Nintendo statement about this specific project is established in the sources here, so its legal status should not be treated as settled or Nintendo-approved.
For now, the project is not publicly downloadable. Readers who want to play the game through an official release can get the Nintendo Switch version; the project author has not announced when, or whether, the private tools will become publicly available.
