No. Stake.us currently excludes Louisiana residents under its terms, and its Help Center says it cannot accommodate players in Louisiana. Separately, the Louisiana Attorney General states that online casino and alleged sweepstakes or social gaming sites offering casino-style games are operating illegally in the state. Those are the operator’s eligibility policy and the Attorney General’s stated legal position; the sources cited here do not establish a final Louisiana court ruling specifically deciding Stake.us’s exact product.
Why Louisiana residents cannot use Stake.us
Stake.us’s Terms and Conditions list Louisiana as an excluded U.S. state. The terms say people who live in an excluded territory are not eligible to access or use the platform, create an account, play games, or otherwise interact with Stake. The terms also require users to be over 21 or meet a higher minimum age that applies where they live.
Stake.us’s restricted-states Help Center page, dated July 10, 2026, also lists Louisiana among the states it cannot accommodate, citing those states’ regulations and referring readers to its terms. In practical terms, a Louisiana resident is not eligible to play on Stake.us under the platform’s current stated policy.

The Louisiana Attorney General’s office states that “online casino, bingo, keno, iGaming, and alleged sweepstakes or social gaming sites offering such games are operating illegally in Louisiana.” The Attorney General’s statement also says that the veto of SB181 did not legalize such sites. This is the Attorney General’s publicly stated position, not a court judgment specifically adjudicating Stake.us’s product.

Stake.us identifies Sweepsteaks Limited, incorporated under Cyprus law, as its operator, and its policy says sweepstakes are void where prohibited by law (Terms and Conditions; policy page). That operator description does not override Louisiana’s rules or Stake.us’s own restricted-state policy.
How Louisiana statutes relate to Stake.us
Electronic sweepstakes devices
Louisiana Revised Statutes § 14:90.7 defines “gambling by electronic sweepstakes device” as intentionally conducting or directly assisting, as a business, a game, contest, lottery, or contrivance in which someone risks something of value to realize a profit through an electronic gaming device used to conduct or promote a sweepstakes. The statute expressly discusses simulated gambling devices and includes computers performing the defined functions. It provides exceptions for specified licensed gaming operations when wagering occurs on licensed premises; those narrow exceptions are not a general authorization for online social casinos. Read Louisiana Revised Statutes § 14:90.7.

Electronic displays in sweepstakes promotions
Louisiana Revised Statutes § 51:1727 separately limits the role of computers in electronic sweepstakes promotions. It says a person may not be required or offered a monetary transaction to enter or win through an electronic system, and it prohibits linking the revelation of a winner or prize to play or simulated play of an electronic game, subject to the statutory exception for activities authorized and regulated under Title 26. See Louisiana Revised Statutes § 51:1727.
Why online sports wagering rules do not change the answer
Louisiana has laws for licensed online sports wagering, including account and location controls. Those laws prohibit wagers when a player is outside Louisiana or in a parish that has not approved sports wagering (sports-wagering statute; related statute). They do not establish that Stake.us’s sweepstakes casino games are authorized or make a Louisiana resident eligible to use the platform.

What to do if you are in Louisiana
- Do not create or use a Stake.us account from Louisiana: the platform’s stated policy excludes Louisiana residents from accessing, registering, or playing.
- Do not treat the availability of licensed online sports wagering as permission to use a sweepstakes casino; they are distinct offerings governed by different rules.
- For updates, consult Stake.us’s terms and restricted-states page, Louisiana’s Gaming Control Board laws and regulations, and its June 17, 2025 announcement on illegal offshore wagering and online sweepstakes gaming.
