Silent Hope is a 2023 action RPG for Nintendo Switch built around seven playable heroes, repeated dungeon runs, and crafting at a shared base. Tom’s Guide writer Millie Davis-Williams called it an overlooked game worth trying and reported a Walmart price of $21 in an article published October 8, 2026. That is a dated deal, not a confirmed current price: check the retailer listing for today’s price, stock, region, and edition before buying.
What is Silent Hope?
Silent Hope is an action RPG developed by Marvelous Inc. and published by Marvelous (XSEED). Nintendo lists its Switch release date as October 3, 2023. The game sends a party of seven distinct heroes into the Abyss, where they fight through enemies and bosses before choosing whether to push farther or return to their base camp.

At the base, heroes can take on jobs such as alchemy, blacksmithing, and cooking. These activities support the next descent with crafted equipment and food buffs. Nintendo describes the game as a one-player title and lists a 1.9 GB file size on its official Switch store page.
Why did a writer call it underrated?
“Why is no one talking about Silent Hope?” is the framing question in Millie Davis-Williams’s Tom’s Guide article. She describes the combat and progression loop as compelling and says the game deserves more attention. That is her personal recommendation, not evidence of a broad critical or sales consensus: the cited sources provide no review-score aggregate, sales figures, or other measure establishing that the game is objectively underrated.

The loop’s appeal is its mix of exploration and preparation. You learn how each hero fights, manage attack cooldowns, and decide when to retreat rather than risk a deeper run. Back at camp, crafting and food preparation give the return visit a practical purpose. Davis-Williams also notes drawbacks: enemy encounters can feel repetitive, and keeping equipment organized across seven characters can become burdensome.
What does the $21 price claim mean?
The $21 Walmart figure comes from the October 8, 2026 Tom’s Guide article; it should not be treated as a live offer. The article also reported a $29 Nintendo digital price and an Amazon price check of $26, all as figures at the time of publication. Separately, an indexed Walmart category result displayed $21.99, reduced from $28.90, but that listing had been crawled three months before the research timestamp and does not confirm the current price or stock.

Before ordering, check the retailer’s current product page for the exact price, seller, format, region, and availability. A physical copy and a digital download are different purchase options, and a past listing or price check does not guarantee either is available now.
Can you buy it physically or digitally?
Marvelous’s June 21, 2023 release announcement said a physical standard edition was planned for Switch, with digital versions offered through Nintendo eShop and Steam. That confirms the announced release paths, not present-day inventory. For current availability, check the relevant storefront or retailer directly.
