New York’s licensed mobile sports wagering framework is a separate category. The sources available do not establish a New York regulator ruling on whether Rebet’s current sweepstakes rules and prize redemptions comply with state law.
Can you use Rebet in New York?
Rebet’s FAQ lists New York among the states where its service is available and cautions that promotional availability can change. That is Rebet’s statement about its own service, not a legal determination or approval from New York regulators. Check Rebet’s current FAQ, Terms of Use, and Sweepstakes Rules before signing up or relying on that availability.
So the practical answer is: Rebet says New York users can access the service, but the available sources do not prove that New York has reviewed or approved Rebet’s current sweepstakes model.
What kind of sportsbook does Rebet say it is?
Rebet characterizes itself as a free-to-play social sportsbook and says it does not offer real-money gambling. It describes Rebet Cash as promotional sweepstakes currency that may be redeemed for prizes under its rules. Those descriptions are Rebet’s own; the exact conditions for earning, using, and redeeming currency depend on its current terms.

That distinction matters: a promotional sweepstakes product is not automatically the same thing as a licensed sportsbook taking cash wagers. At the same time, a company’s description of its product does not by itself establish how state law applies to the product or its prize redemptions.
How New York’s licensed mobile sports wagering works
New York authorizes mobile sports wagering through licensed operators under a state framework. Under that framework, wagers are accepted by equipment at a licensed commercial casino gaming facility, and a bettor must be physically in New York when placing a regulated mobile sports wager. Commission rules require approved geolocation services to keep that wagering activity within the state. The scale of this regulated market is substantial: the Commission’s 2025 annual report says licensed mobile sports wagering operators handled more than $22.8 billion in wagers during calendar year 2024 and generated more than $1.05 billion in state tax revenue. These figures describe the licensed market, not Rebet.

Do not assume the products have identical legal status or consumer protections just because both use sports-betting language. If you choose a conventional sportsbook, confirm its current New York license and read its current terms, including deposit, bonus, and wagering conditions.

What is—and is not—established about Rebet’s legality
The available sources establish Rebet’s own account of its product and its stated New York availability, alongside New York’s rules for licensed mobile sports wagering. They do not establish an authoritative New York legal opinion or regulator ruling on Rebet’s present sweepstakes mechanics and prize redemptions. That means neither “New York approved Rebet” nor “New York has ruled Rebet illegal” is supported by these sources.
Advertising and affiliate disclosures
New York regulates sports-wagering advertising and affiliate marketing. Affiliate relationships must be disclosed, and advertising cannot mislead consumers about chances, conditions, or risk. The Gaming Commission’s advertising restrictions are relevant when assessing promotional claims, including claims made by affiliates or referral sites.
