Yes—Windows Central’s Xbox Series X review calls NASCAR 26 one of the strongest track racers available, praising its weighty, responsive driving, close AI battles, presentation, and workable controller support. That is a reviewer’s assessment, not an objective ranking: the same review points to thin single-player variety outside Career, limited multiplayer structure, daunting setup options, and track changes that can be hard to notice.

What NASCAR 26 is, and where you can play it

NASCAR 26 is the official NASCAR game developed and published by iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations, LLC. It launched on September 18, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. The Xbox version is optimized for Series X|S. NASCAR’s July 29, 2026 announcement and the Xbox Store listing describe the release and platform features.

On Xbox, the store lists single-player and online multiplayer for 2–40 players, Xbox cross-platform multiplayer, 4K Ultra HD, and 60 fps+. The 2–40 figure is a listed multiplayer capability, not a report of how many people are playing. Online multiplayer on Xbox requires Game Pass Essential, Premium, or Ultimate, sold separately.

How the racing feels on Xbox

Windows Central’s review of the Xbox Series X Gold Edition describes the cars as weighty but responsive, with setup changes affecting how they handle. It says cold tires call for care and drafting matters at superspeedways. Road courses can be demanding because the cars’ size and handling make them feel different from lighter circuit racers.

The review also found that tire degradation and rubber buildup can influence a race, though the changing track surface may be subtle. AI opponents can make for convincing battles near the front, but their behavior in traffic is not always consistent. These are the reviewer’s impressions from Xbox Series X play, not lab measurements.

Controller or wheel?

A controller is a viable way to play: the reviewer found controller racing workable and customizable. The review favors a wheel for the best experience, but does not verify compatibility for any particular wheel model. If you are considering one, check that the model supports Xbox and the game; a wheel is not presented as a requirement.

What are the main drawbacks?

  • Limited variety outside Career: The review wanted more single-player content beyond career mode.
  • Basic multiplayer structure: It called for stronger features such as series and leaderboards.
  • Setup complexity: The depth of customization may be daunting if you want to race without adjusting many settings.
  • Subtle track evolution: Rubbering and other dynamic changes can be difficult to perceive, despite affecting racing.
  • Incremental sequel: The review characterizes NASCAR 26 as an iteration on NASCAR 25, rather than a wholesale reinvention.

Which edition should you buy?

The official FAQ lists the Standard Edition at $59.99 and the Gold Edition at $79.99. Gold includes the Standard Edition and the 2026 Season Pass; the FAQ lists that pass separately at $24.99 and says it contains four DLC packs, including paint schemes, firesuits, career bonuses, and VIP employees. These are storefront prices observed October 7, 2026, and may change. See the official NASCAR 26 FAQ for edition details.

Edition Listed price Included content
Standard $59.99 Base game
Gold $79.99 Standard Edition and 2026 Season Pass

Choose Standard if you want the base game without the pass. Gold bundles the pass at a lower total than buying the listed Standard Edition and pass separately, but whether its extra content is worth it depends on how much you value the included DLC and career bonuses.

Who should play it?

NASCAR 26 is a strong option for Xbox Series X|S players who want NASCAR-focused racing, enjoy managing car behavior and racecraft, or are happy to build a single-player experience around Career. Controller players can get started without buying extra hardware. Players seeking substantial modes outside Career or more elaborate organized multiplayer may find the current structure less satisfying.
