Yes—Motorola has demonstrated working phones with bendable and rollable displays, but its wrist-wrapping and rollable designs are concepts, not products you can buy. The practical version of that display technology is already here in the company’s foldable Razr phones, and Motorola’s 2026 Razr Fold takes the idea into a larger, book-style device.
What does “Motorola’s bendy phone” refer to?
It can mean two different Motorola concept devices: a rollable phone shown in 2022 or an adaptive-display phone shown in 2023. Both were functioning demonstrations of flexible OLED technology, but neither announcement established a retail product.
The 2022 rollable concept
At Lenovo Tech World ’22, Motorola introduced a rollable smartphone concept through its 312 Labs innovation group. The company described extended, compact, and peek states: the screen could reach 6.5 inches when extended, then retract to a phone just over 4 inches tall. Motorola explicitly said the device was still conceptual in its rollable concept announcement.

There is no retail model name to search for: “rollable phone” describes the concept, not a released Motorola product.

The 2023 adaptive-display concept
At Lenovo Tech World ’23, Motorola showed a bendable FHD+ pOLED display that could be used in different positions. Flat, it provided a 6.9-inch display and a full Android experience. Bent upright so it could stand on its own, it provided a more compact experience on a 4.6-inch display. It could also wrap around a wrist for wearable-style interaction.
Motorola described it as a conceptual device in its adaptive-display announcement. The wrist mode was a demonstration, not evidence that Motorola sells a phone that becomes a watch.
Can you buy Motorola’s wrist-wrapping or rollable phone?
No retail version of either concept is established by Motorola’s announcements. The 2022 rollable and 2023 wrist-wrapping device show directions the company has explored; they should not be confused with phones available to purchase.

If you want a Motorola phone with a flexible display today, the relevant product family is the Razr. Its screen bends at a hinge so the phone can fold shut; it does not roll out or wrap around your wrist.
What bendable Motorola phone can you buy?
The Motorola Razr 2024 is a commercial foldable with a 6.9-inch FHD+ pOLED main display and a 3.6-inch pOLED external display, according to Motorola’s Razr 2024 specifications. The main screen is listed as LTPO foldable AMOLED, HDR10+, 10-bit, and up to 120Hz. Motorola also lists the phone as IPX8 water-resistant.
That makes the Razr a useful distinction: flexible OLED is not just a concept at Motorola, but the specific wrist-wrap and rollable designs remain concepts. The Razr changes the phone’s shape by folding at a hinge; it does not continuously change its screen area like the rollable prototype was designed to do.

How does the 2026 Razr Fold change Motorola’s direction?
Motorola’s 2026 Razr Fold is its first book-style foldable. The company says it has a 6.6-inch external display that opens to an 8.1-inch 2K LTPO inner display, with laptop and tent modes. That is a different approach from the clamshell Razr: instead of folding a phone in half to make it more pocketable, it opens into a larger screen.

Motorola describes a hinge, a titanium inner-screen plate, ultra-thin glass, and anti-shock film. It also reports more than 75% better drop performance than previous-generation devices in its own comparative testing; that is a manufacturer claim, not an independent laboratory result.
Motorola said the Razr Fold would become available in coming months in selected countries across Latin America, North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. The stated European starting MSRP is €1,999. What these phones suggest about the future of displays
The useful signal is not simply that a display can bend. Motorola’s concepts and products point to several separate design questions: whether a screen can add usable area without making a phone cumbersome, whether software adapts well to each position, and whether hinges and flexible panels can withstand everyday use.
- Pocketability versus screen area: A flip Razr prioritizes a compact closed shape. A book-style Fold opens to a larger workspace. A rollable concept would change the screen’s exposed area without the same book-like opening, but Motorola has not established that design as a retail product.
- Software adaptation: A device is more useful when its interface responds to the position and screen size. Motorola described different Android experiences for the flat and upright states of its 2023 concept, but the announcement alone does not establish how a retail rollable would perform across apps.
- Durability: Foldable devices introduce hinges and flexible screen layers. Motorola lists water resistance for the Razr 2024 and describes protective construction for the Razr Fold, but those details do not amount to a direct comparison of long-term durability or crease visibility across models.
- Commercial maturity: The Razr 2024 is a specified consumer product; the wrist-wrapping and rollable devices are concepts. The Razr Fold is an announced product with a stated regional rollout, so local availability needs to be checked rather than assumed.
For now, foldable displays are the clearest practical development: they already change how a phone opens and closes. Rollable and wrist-wrapping screens show other possibilities, but they have not yet demonstrated the same step from prototype to Motorola product.
