Yes. As of 3 October 2026, the KL Standard Chartered Marathon (KLSCM) was scheduled to proceed with the Full Marathon, ASICS Half Marathon, IHH 10km and 5km. Both Kids Dash distances were cancelled. The event runs on 3–4 October, with separate traffic disruption periods for Saturday’s events and Sunday’s 42km and 21km races. This is a race-weekend update; check current organiser and Kuala Lumpur traffic notices for any later changes.
Which KLSCM 2026 categories are cancelled?
Dirigo announced on 2 October that the four main categories would proceed, but the 2km and 800m Kids Dash races scheduled for Saturday, 3 October, were cancelled. The organiser said the decision was made “in the best interest of the children.” Paul Tan’s report of the announcement attributes the decision to Dirigo.
Parents and guardians were offered a one-day collection arrangement for children’s entitlements: the information counter at Dataran Merdeka on 3 October, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, with the race bib. That window has passed.

What did the organiser say about the haze?
Dirigo said it had been monitoring the haze and would continue monitoring conditions through Saturday, while hoping for favourable weather on Sunday. Its statement, reproduced by Paul Tan, said: “To all runners: you know your body best. If you have underlying health issues, please weigh your options carefully before deciding to run.” The statement does not provide an air-quality reading or a medical threshold, so it should not be treated as a clinical assessment.

When were the races and traffic disruptions scheduled?
KLSCM’s 2026 programme was scheduled for 3 and 4 October. The official race rules list six distances; the Saturday event window and Sunday marathon window differ.

Separately, KLCCC said Jalan Raja was fully closed for event bump-in and bump-out from Friday, 2 October at 8:00 pm until Sunday, 4 October at 3:00 pm. These are event and closure notices, not a guarantee that every affected road segment would reopen at the end of one shared time window. The KLSCM 2026 Rules & Regulations list these categories:
- Full Marathon: 42.195km
- ASICS Half Marathon: 21.1km
- IHH 10km
- 5km
- 2km Kids Dash
- 800m Kids Dash
The rules state that Full Marathon route closures are lifted after 7 hours 15 minutes from race commencement, matching that race’s cut-off time. This applies to the Full Marathon route; it is not a general reopening time for every road or category.
