There is no confirmed sale date or discount amount to show that waiting will be cheaper. As of October 7, 2026, the checked U.S. PlayStation and Xbox stores list the Standard Edition at $69.99. Activision’s confirmed 10% loyalty offer is only for eligible buyers of the digital Vault Edition—not Standard—and Vault costs $99.99 on those stores. Preorder if launch access or the confirmed bonuses are worth the price to you; wait if your priority is paying less and you can accept that the timing and size of any sale are unknown.

Activision describes a 10% loyalty discount on the digital-only Vault Edition for eligible customers who preorder or prepurchase through official platform stores. It is not a discount on the $69.99 Standard Edition. Activision says the offer is scheduled to run until October 23, 2026, subject to change, and does not apply to Vault upgrades.

- BONUS 2X OFFER — Purchase Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 at Amazon and receive 5 hours of Double XP.**
- PRE-ORDER BONUS — Pre-order and unlock the Hunter Killer Operator Skin and the Gilded Pearl Camo Pack.*
- GLOBE‑SPANNING CAMPAIGN — Fight across the Korean Peninsula, New York, Paris, and Mumbai in a high‑stakes narrative where global conflict escalates and survival depends on tactical precision.
- MULTIPLAYER BUILT ON CONTROL — Engage in grounded, precise combat where fluid movement, player choice, and refined mechanics give you greater control in every firefight.
- TACTICAL DMZ OPERATIONS — Deploy behind enemy lines as an off‑the‑books asset, making high‑risk decisions on objectives and extraction in a dynamic mode where every run counts.
Eligibility depends on the qualifying Call of Duty ownership, play, account, and platform rules in Activision’s edition terms. The terms also say active Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or PC subscribers who played a qualifying game through Game Pass may qualify. Do not assume you qualify: confirm that the discount appears in your platform store before checkout.
Even if eligible, compare the final Vault price with the Standard price and decide whether you want the additional Vault content. A percentage off a higher-priced edition does not make Standard cheaper, and the offer is not evidence of a future Standard sale.

What you give up by waiting
Campaign Early Access
Activision says digital Standard and Vault preorders receive Campaign Early Access beginning October 16, 2026, one week before the scheduled worldwide launch on October 23. This is early access to the campaign, not the whole game. If playing the campaign before launch matters to you, waiting means giving up that window. Activision’s announcement confirms the dates.

Other preorder benefits
Activision lists additional preorder or prepurchase benefits, including Open Beta Early Access and instant content for Black Ops 7/Warzone, with benefits and availability tied to edition and format. Check Activision’s edition and preorder-benefit details for the specific version you are considering; do not assume every digital benefit comes with a physical copy.

Physical copies and the Vault Edition
Activision says physical Standard Editions are available through select retailers for PS5 and Xbox Series X, with a physical Switch 2 preorder expected later in 2026. There is no physical PC edition, and Vault is digital-only. Activision also says physical editions cannot be upgraded to Vault.
A physical retailer price could be worth comparing with the digital Standard price, but no specific retailer price, stock, or discount is established here. Check the exact platform, edition, seller, delivery timing, and live price before ordering, and verify any claimed bonus against Activision’s terms.

How to decide: preorder or wait
- Preorder digital Standard if campaign access from October 16 or the applicable preorder benefits are worth paying the current listed price.
- Consider digital Vault only if you want its included content. If you may qualify for the 10% loyalty offer, confirm the discounted total in the store before purchase.
- Compare physical Standard if you prefer a disc or want to check retailer pricing. A physical copy is not a route to a later Vault upgrade.
- Wait if a lower eventual price matters more than launch access and you are comfortable with uncertainty. The official sources cited here establish no post-launch sale date or discount depth, so any specific forecast would be speculation.
