Headliners: The Music of League of Legends looks most worthwhile for fans who collect League of Legends music, character art, or franchise memorabilia. The $55 trade hardcover combines a 148-page book with publisher-described 50+ collectibles. The $175 Portfolio Edition adds eight art prints and other physical accessories, but its $120 premium makes sense mainly if you specifically want those extras. Both editions are listed as preorders, so print quality and the contents of a finished copy have not yet been verified.
What is Headliners: The Music of League of Legends?
It is a physical, collector-oriented hardcover about League of Legends’ virtual music acts—not a music player or a new soundtrack release. Insight Editions publishes the book, which Simon & Schuster distributes. The standard hardcover listing describes lyrics, illustrations, behind-the-scenes material, artist quotes, and collectibles connected to the franchise’s music. The description spans hip-hop, K-pop, metal, and electronic styles. Simon & Schuster’s product listing does not provide a sample of the artist quotes, so their content cannot be assessed from the listing.
How do the two editions compare?
| Edition | Listed price | What the listing says is included | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trade hardcover | $55 | 148-page book and 50+ collectibles, including posters, stickers, collectible character cards, a guitar pick, temporary tattoos, nail art, bumper stickers, and a wristband. | Readers who want the book and a selection of themed extras. |
| Portfolio Edition | $175 | Trade contents plus 80+ ephemera overall, eight art prints, a tote, acrylic standees, an ita bag, a wallet chain, pins, a keychain, patches, and vinyl sleeves with band art. | Collectors who specifically value the extra prints and accessories. |
The collectible counts are publisher descriptions, not an independently checked count of the items in a finished package. The Portfolio Edition is listed by Insight Editions as exclusive to its store, in limited quantities, with preorder shipping after January 12, 2027. Its ISBN is 9798337407852. The trade hardcover has ISBN 9798337407425. An October 2, 2026 report said trade-edition preorders were available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Bookshop.org, and Walmart; availability can change, so check the retailer’s current listing. Insider Gaming’s report has the retailer list.

Is the $120 Portfolio premium worth it?
The price difference between the listed editions is $120. That extra cost buys the Portfolio Edition’s additional prints and accessories, rather than a different book according to the listings. If your main interest is reading about League of Legends’ music acts, the trade edition is the more proportionate choice. If you collect physical franchise items and expect to display or use the added pieces, the Portfolio may be a better fit. Whether those extras are worth the premium is a personal valuation, not something the product descriptions establish.

When is it coming out, and what is not yet known?
Release dates differ across listings: Simon & Schuster displays November 24, 2026, while Barnes & Noble lists December 8, 2026; the October 2, 2026 Insider Gaming report also gives December 8. Treat the date as unsettled and confirm it with the seller before ordering. See the Simon & Schuster listing, Barnes & Noble listing, or the Insider Gaming report.
As of October 3, 2026, both editions are pre-release listings. No finished-copy reviews or hands-on testing were available in the checked sources, so print quality, the completeness of the inclusions, and whether collectibles arrive as loose inserts or are integrated into the book are not established. The $55 and $175 prices and described contents are listing information, not a verdict based on handling the products.
