Yes—but in a limited, market-dependent way. Samsung lists its Exynos 2600 processor as an option for the Galaxy S26 and S26+, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra is listed with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy. Samsung cautions that processor type varies by device and market, so the model name alone does not tell you which chip a particular regional phone uses.
Which Galaxy S26 models use Exynos 2600?
Samsung’s Galaxy S26 announcement lists Exynos 2600 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 as application-processor options for the Galaxy S26 and S26+. The assignment depends on the specific device and market; Samsung does not say that every S26 or S26+ uses Exynos. The company lists the Galaxy S26 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy. Samsung’s Galaxy S26 announcement is the source for these model and market qualifications.
If you are buying a phone and care which processor it contains, check the specifications for the exact regional model or SKU before purchasing. Do not assume that a listing for “Galaxy S26” identifies its processor.
Why this counts as a comeback—and why the wording matters
The clearest evidence of an Exynos return is its placement as an option in Samsung’s current flagship S26 and S26+ phones. That supports describing the move as a comeback in flagship-device deployment. It does not establish a broad recovery across the chip business: the official sources cited here do not provide Exynos market-share or shipment growth, foundry-yield figures, profitability data, or a confirmed next-generation device roadmap.

In other words, “slow comeback” is a restrained interpretation of a concrete product appearance, not a measured claim that Exynos has regained a particular share of the market.
What Samsung says about the Exynos 2600
Samsung describes the Exynos 2600 as a mobile application processor integrating a CPU, GPU and NPU, built on a 2nm gate-all-around (GAA) process. Samsung’s first-quarter 2026 interim report says mass production of its first-generation 2nm GAA process began in September 2025. Those are Samsung’s product and manufacturing statements, not independent verification of performance in phones. See the Exynos 2600 product page and Samsung Electronics’ 2026 first-quarter interim report.

The report also compares Exynos 2600 with Exynos 2500, claiming 39% higher CPU performance, 50% improved GPU ray tracing and 113% higher NPU AI performance. These are Samsung-reported comparisons; they should not be read as independent benchmarks or guaranteed results in everyday use. Samsung’s product page separately claims that the Xclipse 960 GPU offers twice the computing performance of its predecessor and up to 50% better ray tracing, and that its ENSS technology can make gaming feel up to three times smoother. Those product-page figures are also company claims, not independent test results.

The S26 lineup confirms that Samsung has placed Exynos in some flagship configurations, but it does not settle how Exynos and Snapdragon phones compare in actual use. The cited sources do not provide matched independent tests of sustained performance, heat, battery life, or price and availability across the two processor configurations.

Without those comparisons, Samsung’s figures versus Exynos 2500 do not establish that an Exynos-equipped S26 is faster, cooler, or longer-lasting than a Snapdragon-equipped S26. The processor assignment itself is also market- and device-dependent, so buyers should verify the exact phone before comparing specifications.

What to check before choosing an S26
- Confirm the exact model and regional SKU, then verify whether its specifications name Exynos 2600 or Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
- Use independent, like-for-like testing for performance, thermals and battery life if those differences matter to you; Samsung’s cited performance figures compare Exynos 2600 with Exynos 2500, not with Snapdragon.
- Compare local price and availability for the specific configuration rather than inferring either from the processor announcement.
