Dragon Age: The Veilguard is worth considering if you want a single-player Dragon Age role-playing adventure and own a supported platform. For most buyers, the Standard edition is the sensible starting point: EA describes the Deluxe edition’s added armor and weapons as cosmetics, not a story expansion. Before buying, compare the current price and listing in your local store; the prices announced at launch in 2024 are historical, not current quotes.
What you get, and who may enjoy it
EA and Steam describe Dragon Age: The Veilguard as a single-player role-playing game. That makes the key buying question less about multiplayer or ongoing service features and more about whether you want a solo RPG set in the Dragon Age series. Steam’s live storefront is one source of player feedback, but its rating is not a substitute for your own preferences or a critic score.
When accessed on October 4, 2026, Steam showed 67% positive English user reviews from 29,208 reviews. That figure is a changeable, Steam-specific snapshot—not a permanent rating, an all-platform consensus, or a measure of the game’s quality for every player. EA’s 2024 launch announcement described Standard and Deluxe editions. The Deluxe extras it listed are cosmetic gear for Rook and companions; the announcement does not identify them as a story expansion. Launch suggested retail prices were $69.99 USD for Standard and $89.99 USD for Deluxe on consoles, and $59.99 USD for Standard and $79.99 USD for Deluxe on PC. The price difference shown by those launch prices was $20 USD between editions on both console and PC. Because store prices and discounts can change, use the current local listing—not that historical difference—to decide whether the upgrade is worthwhile.
Which platforms support the game?
EA lists The Veilguard for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. EA’s purchase page links PC buyers to the EA app, Steam, and Epic, as well as to console stores. Select the edition and platform carefully: confirm the exact listing, region, and hardware before checkout.

What performance modes should console buyers expect?
EA says PS5 and Xbox Series X|S offer fidelity and performance modes targeting 30 and 60 FPS, respectively. Those are published targets, not a promise that every scene holds a fixed frame rate. EA also says the game is enhanced for PS5 Pro. If you prefer the fidelity mode’s 30 FPS target or the performance mode’s 60 FPS target, check the in-game options and your display setup after installation. EA’s technical specifications.

Is the art book a game edition?
No. EA names The Art of Dragon Age: The Veilguard by Dark Horse as a separate art book and explicitly notes that it does not include the game. Treat it as an optional collector item, not as a bundle or edition that provides access to The Veilguard. EA’s launch and preorder announcement.

What to check before you buy
- Match the platform to your hardware. Confirm PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC on the exact store listing before checkout.
- Compare editions at today’s local price. Standard includes the game; EA’s listed Deluxe additions are cosmetic gear. Decide whether those cosmetics justify the current premium.
- On PC, check system requirements and storefront. EA lists the EA app, Steam, and Epic; verify the requirements for your PC and the edition you intend to buy.
- On console, consider the published mode targets. EA lists 30 FPS for fidelity mode and 60 FPS for performance mode; these are targets rather than fixed guarantees in every scene.
- Keep feedback in context. A Steam rating reflects Steam users at a particular moment, not every platform or every buyer’s experience.
