No. In ChromiumOS’s device registry, Coral is a Chromebook board name associated with the Apollo Lake platform—not Braswell. Braswell appears as a separate platform label on other Chromebook boards. The registry clarifies the naming, but it does not identify which early-development announcement the phrase “begins development” refers to.
What “Coral” and “Braswell” mean
ChromiumOS’s device information distinguishes among a device’s model or project code name, board name and platform. Coral is the board name in the Chromebook entries at issue; Apollo Lake is the platform associated with those entries. Braswell is a different platform label, not another name for Coral.
How the Chromebook entries compare
| Chromebook example | Board name | Platform |
|---|---|---|
| Acer Chromebook 11 (C732 variants) | Coral | Apollo Lake |
| Acer Chromebook R11 | Cyan | Braswell |
| Samsung Chromebook 3 | Celes | Braswell |
These examples follow the registry’s separate board and platform fields; they are not a performance comparison.
What the development wording does—and does not—establish
The phrase “begins development” does not specify a manufacturer, retail model, date or original announcement. The device registry establishes that Coral Chromebook entries use the Apollo Lake platform, but it does not resolve which development report the phrase refers to. Without that report, a specific product or timeline cannot be identified from the wording alone.

Coral Dev Board is a different product
