There is no verified live $500 discount to buy from based on the available evidence. MacRumors reported on June 3, 2026 that LG listed a 34-inch UltraGear OLED curved gaming monitor for $799.99, described as $500 off. That report is a historical sale lead, not confirmation that the same model, retailer price, or promotion is still available on October 13, 2026. The exact monitor behind the headline remains unidentified.
What the $500-off claim actually refers to
The strongest match is a June 3, 2026 MacRumors sale report concerning an LG 34-inch UltraGear OLED curved gaming monitor. The reported sale price was $799.99, with a stated $500 reduction from the listed price. The report does not establish that this monitor is the headline’s “one of the best entry-level” model, and it does not prove that the promotion continued beyond the date of publication.
Because monitor deals can end, change retailers, or apply only in certain countries, the phrase “right now” cannot be supported here. A current product page would need to show the exact model number, seller, price, stock status, discount basis, and region before this could be treated as a live deal.
Historical monitor deals that should not be confused
| Report date | Monitor | Reported price | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|---|
| June 3, 2026 | LG 34-inch UltraGear OLED curved gaming monitor | $799.99, reported as $500 off | A historical sale lead; current availability and the exact headline match are unconfirmed |
| August 7, 2024 | Samsung 34-inch Odyssey OLED G8 (G85SB) | $799.99 | A separate historical ultrawide sale, not evidence of the 2026 promotion |
The Samsung example appeared in a separate Notebookcheck monitor-topic result. Its price and date document another discount event, but they do not identify the product in the current headline.

Why the “entry-level” label is not yet reliable
“Entry-level” is a relative category, not a technical specification. For an ultrawide gaming display, a meaningful value judgment requires at least the panel technology, screen size and aspect ratio, native resolution, refresh rate, response behavior, ports, adaptive-sync support, warranty, return policy, and normal street price. None of those details are sufficiently verified for the monitor intended by this headline.
An OLED panel may offer strong contrast and fast pixel transitions, but buyers also need to check brightness behavior, burn-in coverage, warranty language, and the retailer’s return window. Those considerations cannot be scored without the exact model and regional terms.

- 1ms MPRT: Colors fade and illuminate instantly with a 1ms response time, eliminating ghosting and piecing together precise imagery during action-packed scenes and gaming.
- Luminous Backcover Lights: A colorful LED light illuminates the back cover of the monitor, delivering a uniquely modern design.
- WQHD Resolution: At 5 million pixels, Wide Quad HD Resolution (3440 x 1440) display resolution provides you with the next level of refined, and detailed picture over the current 1080P standard.
- 21:9 Ultrawide: See more and do more with an ultrawide monitor. 21:9 provides you with 30% more screen space versus the conventional monitor. With an ultrawide resolution of 3440 x 1440, expand your performance and productivity.
How to verify the deal before paying
- Identify the model number. Do not rely on “34-inch UltraGear OLED” alone. Confirm the complete model designation on the retailer page and in the manufacturer’s specifications.
- Check the seller and region. A price reported in one country may not apply to your location, taxes, shipping, or currency.
- Verify the current price. Record the checkout price, not only a crossed-out list price or search-result snippet.
- Check the discount basis. Confirm whether “$500 off” compares with the manufacturer’s suggested price, a temporary retailer price, or a previous listing that was rarely used.
- Confirm stock and delivery. A low price is not actionable if the item is unavailable, back-ordered, refurbished when you expected new, or sold by an unfamiliar marketplace seller.
- Read warranty and returns. For OLED monitors, determine who handles defects, what burn-in coverage says, and whether return shipping is paid by the buyer.
- Compare the specifications with your system. Check that your graphics card and connection standard can drive the monitor’s native resolution and refresh rate. Verify the ports you need for a desktop, laptop, console, or dock.
What a fair buying decision looks like
Buy only after the live listing is confirmed
The $799.99 figure may be attractive if it is attached to the exact intended model, sold new by a reputable retailer, and backed by suitable warranty and return terms. Those conditions are not established by the historical report alone.

Wait when the model or price is ambiguous
If a page omits the model number, shows a different size, or presents the discount without a verifiable comparison price, treat the headline as unconfirmed rather than assuming you found the deal. Waiting also avoids paying for a product whose regional warranty or return policy is unclear.

Do not use the Samsung sale as a substitute
The Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 (G85SB) report is from August 7, 2024 and concerns a different sale. It cannot validate the LG promotion or provide a current benchmark for October 2026 pricing.

A June 3, 2026 report recorded an LG 34-inch UltraGear OLED curved gaming monitor at $799.99, described as $500 off. No evidence here confirms that promotion is still active, identifies the precise headline model with certainty, or proves that it is an entry-level best buy. Treat the story as a historical lead and verify the live retailer listing, model number, region, stock, price, and warranty before purchasing.
