IREDA closed at Rs.111 on the NSE on 1 October 2026, compared with a reported all-time high of Rs.310 on 15 July 2024. That is a roughly 64% decline between those dates. Around the same time, IREDA disclosed an extension of Director (Finance) Dr. Bijay Kumar Mohanty’s additional charge as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). The available reports do not establish that the management decision caused the longer share-price fall.

What happened to IREDA’s share price?

A Mint report republished by TradingView News says IREDA closed at Rs.111 on the NSE on 1 October 2026. It compares that close with a reported all-time high of Rs.310 on 15 July 2024, describing a decline of about 64% from the peak. These are dated historical figures, not live prices. The report also gives separate short-term reference points: the 1 October close was down 0.61% for that day; the reported 52-week low was Rs.107.40 on 16 September 2026, and the 52-week high was Rs.158.70 on 15 October 2025. The daily move, the 52-week range and the fall from the July 2024 peak describe different periods and should not be conflated.

For another point of reference, the report says IREDA debuted on Indian exchanges on 29 November 2023 at an issue price of Rs.32. It calculates that the 1 October 2026 close of Rs.111 was 247% above that issue price. This is the report’s comparison between two dated prices, not a measure of what every investor earned.

What did the government’s CMD decision say?

IREDA’s official investor-disclosures index lists a filing titled “Extension of Additional Charge of post of the Chairman & Managing Director, IREDA to Dr.Bijay Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance).” The listing establishes that the company disclosed an extension, but the full attachment text is not reproduced on the index page. A Mint report dated 2 October 2026 quotes the exchange filing as saying that the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) approved an extension of the additional CMD charge to Dr. Mohanty “for a further period of three months, effective from 1 October 2026, or till the appointment of a regular incumbent, or until further orders, whichever is earliest”. The report says he had been handling the additional charge since July 2026. Mint report republished by TradingView News

Rank #2

In practical terms, the reported arrangement is temporary and ends at the earliest of the stated three-month period, appointment of a regular incumbent, or further orders. The quoted operative wording is from the Mint report’s reproduction of the filing; the official index confirms the disclosure’s title.

Did the CMD decision cause the share-price fall?

The dated price comparison and the management disclosure are reported in the same period, but that timing does not prove causation. The reported 0.61% daily decline refers to 1 October 2026, while the roughly 64% comparison runs from July 2024 to October 2026. The cited reporting does not demonstrate that the additional-charge extension caused either the day’s move or the longer decline.
