On paper, the iQOO 16 moves ahead with a 165Hz display, a newer listed Snapdragon platform and an 8,400mAh battery; official iQOO specifications list the iQOO 15 at up to 144Hz and 7,000mAh. That makes the iQOO 16 the more ambitious spec-sheet choice, but not a proven winner in battery life, gaming or photography. If the 16 is not officially sold and supported where you live, the locally available iQOO 15 may be the safer buy.
iQOO 16 vs iQOO 15: Key differences

What the iQOO 16 changes
Display: a higher refresh-rate ceiling
The iQOO 15’s official global specification lists a 6.85-inch AMOLED panel at 3168 × 1440 and up to 144Hz. IT之家’s iQOO 16 launch coverage describes a 6.85-inch 2K display with a maximum 165Hz refresh rate. The 165Hz figure is a ceiling, not a promise that every app or game will render at 165 frames per second.
IT之家 also relays manufacturer-reported iQOO 16 figures of 2,800 nits global peak brightness and 10,000 nits local peak brightness, along with Samsung M16 panel material and LEAD 2.0. These are launch specifications and claims, not independent brightness measurements.

- apple iphone 16e; iphone 16e 128gb; apple smartphone; iphone eSIM; unlocked iphone
Performance: newer listed hardware, not a tested speed verdict
iQOO’s official iQOO 15 specifications name Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The iQOO 16 launch report names a newer Snapdragon 8 generation and a dedicated Q4 gaming chip. It also describes a 2nm process, an 8,500mm² vapor chamber and a vendor benchmark figure. Those launch claims do not establish sustained frame rates, temperature or efficiency in comparable use.
For gaming, the grounded distinction is the iQOO 16’s higher advertised refresh ceiling and newer listed hardware. A useful independent comparison would need to measure frame-rate stability, heat, brightness and battery drain under the same games and settings.

Battery and charging: more capacity on the 16
The official iQOO 15 India page lists a 7,000mAh battery, while IT之家’s iQOO 16 launch report gives 8,400mAh. Both models are reported with 100W wired and 40W wireless charging. Capacity alone does not show how long a phone lasts: screen settings, workload, software and network conditions all affect runtime.

Cameras: similar headline layout, no established winner
iQOO India lists a 50MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide, 50MP 3× periscope rear camera and 32MP front camera for the iQOO 15. The iQOO 16 launch report describes a 50MP main camera and 50MP periscope telephoto alongside an ultrawide. Those descriptions are not enough to rank image quality; sensor details, image processing and same-scene testing matter.

Software: verify the version for your region

A China configuration does not establish which software a phone sold or imported into another market will run, or how long it will receive updates. Confirm both with the seller or iQOO for the exact model.

- You can buy a version with suitable network support, local warranty and repair access.
Choose the iQOO 15 if local support and value matter more

- You want to avoid the compatibility and service uncertainties of importing a phone.
Wait or check carefully before importing an iQOO 16
Android Central reported on September 30, 2026 that no global iQOO 16 launch plan had been announced. That is a dated status report, not a guarantee about future availability. Before buying an import, check supported 4G and 5G bands, warranty coverage, repair options, software region and the seller’s return policy. For an India purchase in particular, verify current official availability rather than assuming that China launch specifications mean an India release.

What is not settled by the specifications
The specifications support a clear on-paper comparison, but they do not prove that the iQOO 16 is faster in sustained gaming, lasts longer in real use or takes better photos. No independent controlled head-to-head results are established in the sources cited here. Buyers prioritizing any of those outcomes should look for tests of both exact regional models under comparable conditions.
