Which phone has better performance?
The iQOO 15R has the higher-tier named processor on paper: Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 versus the REDMI’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5. The 91mobiles comparison lists maximum clock speeds of 3.8GHz and 2.6GHz respectively, but clock speed alone is not a benchmark and does not establish a particular gaming frame rate or everyday speed advantage. No controlled performance results are established by the cited sources.
Choose the iQOO if chipset tier is your priority. The REDMI’s listed processor may be sufficient for your needs, but the specifications alone cannot establish its performance in specific games or workloads.

Which has the better display?
The REDMI has the larger panel at 6.83 inches, compared with 6.59 inches on the iQOO. Both are listed as 1.5K AMOLED displays, with closely matched resolutions. Xiaomi lists up to 120Hz and support for 12-bit color, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. iQOO lists 130Hz for normal scenes and 360Hz touch sampling for gaming. These are manufacturer-stated capabilities; actual modes and availability can depend on content, settings and regional SKU.

Xiaomi lists a 10,000mAh typical silicon-carbon battery for the REDMI, while iQOO lists 7,600mAh typical capacity for the 15R. Both manufacturers specify 100W charging; the REDMI also lists 27W wired reverse charging. The larger stated capacity does not by itself establish how many hours either phone will last: display use, network conditions, software and workload affect runtime, and the cited specifications do not provide a standardized independent battery test.

Camera specifications and what they do not prove
Both phones list a 50MP main rear camera with optical image stabilization, an 8MP ultrawide and a 32MP front camera. iQOO identifies the 15R’s main sensor as Sony LYT-700V. Xiaomi promotes 2x telephoto-grade portrait zoom on the REDMI, but that description is not a separate telephoto-camera specification. Matching megapixel counts do not guarantee matching image quality, and the cited sources do not establish a controlled camera winner.

The iQOO runs OriginOS 6.0. Xiaomi lists HyperOS 3 on Android 16 for the REDMI and states four years of OS updates plus six years of security patches. The sources cited here do not establish a comparable iQOO update-duration commitment, so that is an evidence gap rather than proof that iQOO offers no support.

The REDMI is listed at 229g and up to 8.65mm thick, while iQOO lists the 15R at 202g or 206g and up to 8.10mm thick, depending on color. The REDMI’s larger screen and battery come with greater listed weight. Xiaomi advertises IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K ingress ratings and Gorilla Glass Victus 2; these are Xiaomi’s product claims, not independent verification in the cited materials.

- Consider the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G if a larger screen, higher stated battery capacity, Xiaomi’s published update schedule or its lower price in the dated snapshot matters more.
- Compare exact variants before paying: iQOO lists up to 512GB storage, while the cited Xiaomi specification page lists 256GB. Do not treat the snapshot prices as a confirmed same-capacity comparison.
