The Motorola Edge 70 Max is the better fit if you want a larger, sharper display and Qi2 wireless charging. The iQOO 15R lists a larger battery and faster wired charging. Both use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, so the choice comes down to these features, the exact configuration available in your market, and current pricing.

Motorola says specifications may vary by market, so check the local model before treating its listed memory and storage as universal. Which display is better?
The Edge 70 Max has the larger and higher-resolution screen: 6.82 inches at 1440 × 3168, compared with the iQOO 15R’s 6.59 inches at 2750 × 1260. Motorola also specifies a maximum 144 Hz refresh rate. That makes the Edge the more compelling choice on listed display size, resolution, and maximum refresh rate.
There is a refresh-rate discrepancy for the iQOO. Its India specifications page says 130 Hz for normal scenes, while 91mobiles lists 144 Hz. The available specifications do not explain the difference, so use iQOO’s official 130 Hz wording rather than assuming the phone supports 144 Hz in normal use. The same iQOO page lists 360 Hz touch sampling for gaming; touch sampling is not the display refresh rate.

Battery and charging: capacity versus convenience
iQOO lists a 7600 mAh typical battery and 100 W wired charging. Motorola lists a 7100 mAh silicon-carbon battery, 90 W wired charging, and 25 W Qi2 wireless charging. On stated capacity and wired wattage, the iQOO has the advantage; Motorola is the one that adds wireless charging.
These figures do not establish which phone lasts longer in everyday use or how quickly either one charges from a particular starting level. Usage, settings, charger compatibility, and other conditions affect those outcomes. Compare the features you will use rather than treating battery capacity or charging wattage as a real-world endurance or charging-time result.

Performance and cameras
Both manufacturers specify the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, so the named processor does not distinguish the two phones. 91mobiles reports AnTuTu scores of 3,078,708 for the iQOO 15R and 2,972,932 for the Edge 70 Max. Those are figures reported by that comparison, not guaranteed results for every device or a prediction of how each will perform in daily use; the comparison does not provide enough test-protocol detail to generalize them.
The listed rear-camera setups are similar: each has a 50 MP main camera and an 8 MP ultrawide, and both list a 32 MP front camera. Motorola specifies optical image stabilization (OIS) on the main camera. That is a hardware distinction, but megapixel counts and stabilization alone do not establish overall photo or video quality.

Memory, storage, and software support
iQOO’s India page lists 8 GB or 12 GB RAM and 256 GB or 512 GB storage. Motorola Support lists 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage for the Edge 70 Max. Since Motorola cautions that specifications vary by market, confirm the exact local SKU and its price before comparing configurations.
For the Edge, Motorola lists Android 16, up to three years of OS updates, and security updates until July 2031. The 91mobiles comparison reports four OS-update years and six security-update years for the iQOO 15R. Treat the iQOO durations as that comparison’s reporting; they are not confirmed by the cited official iQOO specification page.

Price difference in India
When accessed on October 7, 2026, 91mobiles listed the iQOO 15R at ₹53,990 and the Motorola Edge 70 Max at ₹53,742 on Amazon India. That was a ₹248 difference, with Motorola listed lower. These are dated retailer price snapshots, not fixed prices or a guarantee of current availability. Check the live listing for the same memory and storage configuration before buying.

Which phone should you buy?
Choose the Motorola Edge 70 Max if
- You prefer a larger, higher-resolution display with a specified maximum refresh rate of 144 Hz.
- You want Qi2 wireless charging as well as wired charging.
- You value OIS on the listed main camera.
- The local configuration and current price suit you; Motorola’s support specifications may vary by market.
Choose the iQOO 15R if
- You prefer the higher listed battery capacity and 100 W wired charging.
- You want the option of a 12 GB RAM or 512 GB storage configuration listed on iQOO’s India page.
- You are comfortable relying on iQOO’s official 130 Hz normal-scene display specification rather than the 144 Hz figure shown by one comparison source.
At the cited India price snapshot, the difference was small enough that the display, wireless charging, battery, and configuration trade-offs matter more than that ₹248 gap. Check the price of the exact SKU you intend to buy before deciding.
