The iQOO 15 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra are built for different priorities: the iQOO is a conventional performance-focused phone with a 144Hz display and high-capacity battery, while Samsung’s book-style foldable opens into an 8-inch workspace for multitasking. Their specifications make the design trade-off clear, but the available official prices are from different countries, so they do not establish a direct price difference.
At a glance: a flat phone versus a foldable workspace
| Specification | iQOO 15 | Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra |
|---|---|---|
| Design and displays | Flat 6.85-inch AMOLED, 3168 × 1440, up to 144Hz | Book-style foldable AMOLED: 8-inch inner display and 6.5-inch cover display, both 120Hz |
| Processor | Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform | Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy |
| Battery and charging | 7,000mAh; 100W wired and 40W wireless charging listed by iQOO | 5,000mAh; Samsung states 45W fast charging. Samsung Australia lists 15W wireless charging. |
| Rear cameras | Three 50MP cameras: main, ultra-wide and 3× periscope | 200MP main, 50MP ultra-wide and 10MP telephoto with 3× optical zoom, per Samsung Australia |
| Software in cited regional listing | OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, per iQOO India store | Android 17 with One UI 9, per Samsung Australia guide |
| Official store price cited | ₹85,999 for the selected India 12GB/256GB Apex configuration; MRP ₹92,999 | U.S. store displayed $1,799.99 for 256GB, $1,999.99 for 512GB and $2,399.99 for 1TB; crossed-out prices were $2,099.99, $2,299.99 and $2,699.99 respectively |
Display diagonals are manufacturer-stated measurements, not a direct comparison of usable screen area. The Fold8 Ultra’s larger inner display is intended to open up more room for reading, video and multitasking; the iQOO’s single flat screen avoids the foldable form factor.
Which has the bigger display?
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra has the larger display when opened: Samsung specifies an 8-inch inner screen alongside a 6.5-inch cover screen, both at 120Hz. The iQOO 15 has one 6.85-inch flat AMOLED panel with a resolution of 3168 × 1440 and a refresh rate up to 144Hz. Samsung’s launch materials position the inner screen as a larger workspace and highlight multitasking.
That makes the choice more about how you use a phone than about one refresh-rate figure. The iQOO offers the higher stated maximum refresh rate on its main display; the Fold8 Ultra offers a second, larger screen that unfolds for tasks that benefit from more room. Similar display measurements do not make the devices interchangeable, and the listed diagonal sizes alone do not tell you their relative screen areas.

Are their processors and performance comparable?
Both phones are listed with processors from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 family: the iQOO 15 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, while the Fold8 Ultra uses Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy. The similar names do not establish identical performance. The cited official product sources do not provide a comparable independent benchmark or sustained-performance test, so they cannot show which phone is faster in games or under prolonged workloads.
Which battery charges faster?
On stated capacity and wired charging ratings, iQOO lists a 7,000mAh battery and 100W FlashCharge for the iQOO 15; Samsung specifies a 5,000mAh battery and 45W fast charging for the Fold8 Ultra. Those are manufacturer specifications, not equivalent real-world battery-life or charging-time results. Battery endurance and time to recharge depend on usage and test conditions, and the cited sources do not establish a side-by-side result.

The listed hardware can help you compare camera roles and zoom options, but the official sources cited here do not provide a neutral camera test or comparable sample-based assessment.
What differs in software and durability?
The regional product information cited here lists the iQOO India store configuration with OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, and Samsung Australia’s guide with Android 17 and One UI 9. These are region-specific listings, not a guarantee that every market or software update has the same version. Check the local SKU and its update policy before purchasing.

Durability claims also need to be read in context. iQOO’s global product page states IP68/IP69, while Samsung Australia describes the Fold8 Ultra as IP48 and notes a titanium-reinforced foldable display structure. These ratings are not equivalent and should not be read as a promise that either phone is waterproof. Confirm the protection and warranty terms that apply in your country.

These store prices can change. The prices are in different currencies and countries, and the configurations and price treatments are not equivalent. Subtracting them, converting currencies, or presenting the result as a universal saving or premium would be misleading.
