The India-market iQOO 12 5G is a strong performance flagship, especially for demanding games and fast wired charging. Its 144Hz LTPO AMOLED display and flexible rear-camera setup add appeal, but uneven camera processing, Funtouch OS clutter, no wireless charging and mixed heavy-use battery reports keep it from being an automatic recommendation. Whether it is worth buying depends on the live price and which storage variant is actually in stock.
What is the iQOO 12 5G?
This review covers the India version, launched in December 2023. It came in 12GB/256GB and 16GB/512GB configurations. Its core pitch is flagship-class processing, gaming features and fast charging, paired with a three-camera rear system. The specifications below are corroborated by iQOO India and review coverage from 91mobiles and Gadgets 360.

How good is the iQOO 12 for performance and gaming?
Performance is the phone’s clearest strength. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is a flagship processor, and iQOO pairs it with a Q1 chip marketed for gaming. The Indian Express found demanding games smooth in its tested titles. That is a positive sign for gaming, but it does not mean the phone stays cool or holds peak performance indefinitely under every workload.

Is the display a strength?
The 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED panel combines a large viewing area with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. Reviewers praised its brightness and fluidity, making it well suited to games, scrolling and video. The 1,260 × 2,800 resolution is less sharp than the highest-resolution flagship panels, so buyers who prioritize pixel density may prefer a different display. The 144Hz maximum is a capability, not a promise that every app or task will run at that rate.
How good are the cameras?
Rear cameras
The main, ultrawide and 3× optical periscope telephoto cameras give the phone useful range without relying entirely on digital zoom. GSMArena found the rear-camera setup versatile and capable in general use. However, reviews also report inconsistent image processing, so results may not be equally dependable across scenes and camera modes.

Camera versatility does not extend equally to every use case. GSMArena identifies selfie-camera video capabilities as a particular weakness. If front-camera video is central to your buying decision, do not assume the strong rear-camera hardware makes the selfie experience equally capable.
How long does the battery last, and how fast does it charge?
Battery-life reports depend on the workload. Gadgets 360 recorded 19 hours 25 minutes in its controlled HD video-loop test, while The Indian Express reviewer reported five to six hours of screen-on time that included an hour of gaming. The first is a repeatable video test; the second is one reviewer’s mixed-use experience. Neither guarantees the same result for your brightness, signal strength, apps or gaming habits.

Charging is a more consistent selling point. In its 2023 review test, Gadgets 360 measured an average of 28 minutes for a full charge from 0–100%; The Indian Express estimated approximately 30 minutes. These are reviewers’ test observations, not a promise for every charging session. The phone supports 120W wired charging and does not support wireless charging.
What is the software experience like?
The India model launched with Android 14 and Funtouch OS 14. The Indian Express found the interface cluttered and reported preinstalled apps and notifications that needed disabling; Gadgets 360 also noted app-store promotions. If you prefer a cleaner software setup, expect to spend time removing or disabling unwanted items and adjusting notifications.

Launch-period reviews reported a promise of three major Android upgrades and four years of security updates. That is a stated support commitment, not confirmation that all promised updates have been delivered. Should you buy the iQOO 12 5G?
Consider it if gaming performance, a high-refresh-rate screen and very fast wired charging matter more to you than wireless charging or a particularly clean software experience. Its rear camera trio is more versatile than a basic main-and-ultrawide pairing, but buyers who need consistently polished processing or strong selfie video should weigh that limitation carefully.
