The alleged Apple Store surprise for iPhone Duo buyers is not confirmed by the available reporting. The title attributes the claim to Mark Gurman, but no matching Gurman report or Apple announcement was located, and the nature of the supposed offer remains unknown.
What is known about the alleged surprise?
There is not enough evidence to say that U.S. Apple Stores are offering iPhone Duo buyers a gift, credit, service, accessory, or any other benefit. No source located identifies the supposed surprise or establishes its terms. In particular, there is no verified information about eligibility, participating stores, dates, redemption, or whether supplies would be limited.
The claim is attributed to Mark Gurman, but the matching report was not found. Without the original report or confirmation from Apple, the headline should be treated as an unverified claim rather than a confirmed promotion.

What has been reported about the iPhone Duo?
Secondary reporting describes a purported foldable phone called the iPhone Duo. The Sun reported a starting price of $1,999 and an October 23, 2026 release date, but those details are not independently verified here and are not confirmed by Apple. Another secondary report described the device as Apple’s first foldable phone and said it was unveiled at a September 9 event; no official Apple source was found to establish those claims.
#1 Best Overall
- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
Accordingly, neither the device’s existence and U.S. availability nor an Apple Store promotion is established by the available evidence. The reported price and date should not be treated as official launch details.
What should prospective buyers do?
Before relying on the offer, look for the original Gurman report and an announcement or product listing from Apple. If a promotion is confirmed, check its published terms for the eligible purchase, participating U.S. stores, dates, redemption steps, and any quantity limits. Until then, do not count on receiving a bonus or make a purchase decision based on the alleged surprise.
