For iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, Apple says fast charging can reach 50% in around 15 minutes over USB-C or around 30 minutes with MagSafe, using specified accessories. The Pro Max has a larger battery, but Apple has not published its capacity in mAh. MagSafe support for Apple’s reported foldable iPhone remains unconfirmed.
What charger does iPhone 18 Pro need?
You can charge iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max with USB-C or wirelessly with MagSafe. To match Apple’s stated fast-charge conditions, the wired adapter needs more than a particular wattage: it must also support the specified charging standards.
Fast wired charging
Use the USB-C cable included with the iPhone and a USB-C power adapter rated for at least 60W that supports USB Power Delivery and Adjustable Voltage Supply (AVS). Apple’s Support guidance names USB-PD 3.2; its announcement specifies USB PD 3.1 or later. Apple also lists its 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max as an option. A third-party adapter can work if it meets the capability and protocol requirements; a “60W” label alone does not establish that it supports AVS and USB-PD.

For Apple’s stated wireless 50%-in-30-minutes charging condition, use a MagSafe Charger with a 35W-or-higher power adapter. Apple lists compatible MagSafe Charger models A3502, A3503, A2580, and A3250 for faster MagSafe charging on iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max when paired with a 30W-or-greater adapter that meets its electrical conditions. That compatibility guidance concerns peak wireless power; it is not a promise that every setup will reach 50% in 30 minutes.

Apple says the required accessories are sold separately. Its charge-time results depend on the adapter, settings, use, and environment, and actual results vary.
How fast does iPhone 18 Pro charge?
Apple’s September 2026 announcement says iPhone 18 Pro can reach 50% charge in around 15 minutes by wire, or 50% in around 30 minutes wirelessly. The figures come from Apple testing preproduction iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max units with preproduction software in July 2026. They are manufacturer claims, not independent test results.

What the nearly 10% battery report means
A July 2026 MacRumors roundup reported that alleged Chinese regulatory database filings pointed to an iPhone 18 Pro Max battery nearly 10% larger than the iPhone 17 Pro Max battery. That percentage remains a reported comparison, not a figure confirmed by Apple. Apple’s later announcement confirms that the Pro Max battery is larger but does not verify the percentage or publish an exact capacity.

Will Apple’s foldable iPhone support MagSafe?
It has been reported as likely, but Apple has not confirmed it. In a September 1, 2026 report, MacRumors attributed the expectation to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman. The report noted conflicting physical clues: dummy models did not show a MagSafe ring, while leaked cases did. Those clues and Gurman’s assessment are not an official specification.
The reporting does not establish the foldable phone’s charging wattage, adapter requirements, battery capacity, official name, or final release timing. There is not enough confirmed information to recommend a foldable-specific charger or other charging accessory.

Is iPhone 18 replacing USB-C with a MacBook-style connector?
No confirmed Apple specification supports that claim. A viral video suggesting iPhone 18 would replace USB-C with a small MacBook-style magnetic connector was identified by Fact Crescendo as a fabricated concept, not an Apple preview. MacBook MagSafe is a physical wired connector; iPhone MagSafe is a magnetic wireless-charging and accessory system. Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro charging guidance describes USB-C for wired charging and MagSafe for wireless charging.
