Apple confirmed U.S. starting prices of $1,199 for iPhone 18 Pro and $1,299 for iPhone 18 Pro Max in its September 9, 2026 announcement. Before launch, analysts expected Apple to keep prices the same or similar to the previous generation, but those forecasts have now been superseded by Apple’s confirmed prices.
How much do the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max cost?
Apple’s September 9, 2026 announcement lists these U.S. starting prices:
| Model | U.S. starting price | Storage options listed by Apple |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone 18 Pro | $1,199 | 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB |
| iPhone 18 Pro Max | $1,299 | 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB |
The Pro Max starts $100 above the Pro, based on Apple’s U.S. starting prices. Those are entry prices, not a full price list: Apple’s announcement identifies the available capacities but does not establish the price of each storage configuration. Prices in other regions, taxes, carrier financing, trade-in offers, and retailer pricing are separate and are not specified here. Apple’s official announcement gives the confirmed launch information.
What did the pre-launch rumors say?
Before Apple announced prices, analysts expected the company to avoid a substantial increase. A February 10, 2026 report from MacRumors said GF Securities analyst Jeff Pu expected Apple to target starting prices that were unchanged or similar to those of the prior generation. The report also attributed to Ming-Chi Kuo the view that Apple would try to avoid price increases as much as possible.
