The iPhone 17 256GB was reported at an effective price of ₹79,992 on Flipkart on October 8, 2026, once a bank offer and SuperCoins were applied. That puts it under ₹80,000, but only for a buyer whose card and checkout conditions match the offer. The same offer was advertised a few days earlier at ₹79,999, so the exact figure depends on the date and the offer terms. Reports establish this as a notable price on one model. They do not establish it as the best iPhone deal of the season across all retailers.
What the ₹79,992 figure is made of
Moneycontrol’s sale-live report, dated October 8, 2026, builds the price from a reported sale price of ₹84,999 and then subtracts two items:
- ₹5,000 from a Flipkart Axis Bank offer. This requires the Axis Bank card and the offer’s conditions.
- ₹7 in SuperCoins.
The arithmetic is ₹84,999 minus ₹5,000 minus ₹7, which equals ₹79,992. The same report describes 5% cashback on a qualifying Flipkart Axis Bank credit card. That cashback is not part of the calculation above, and it is not a reduction in the checkout total. Treat it as a separate benefit whose eligibility you need to confirm.
The earlier ₹79,999 offer
Moneycontrol’s pre-sale article, dated October 3, 2026, advertised ₹79,999 through a different calculation. It started from the same ₹84,999 sale price, then subtracted a ₹2,000 discount for eligible ICICI Bank or Axis Bank credit card transactions and a ₹3,000 exchange bonus. The article stated the final figure would depend on eligibility. The Oct 3 and Oct 8 figures are close, but they are different offers built from different conditions, so you should not mix them.

The two calculations are compared below.
| Report | Starting sale price | Card or bank benefit | Other deduction | Reported effective price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Moneycontrol pre-sale, Oct 3, 2026 | ₹84,999 | ₹2,000 (eligible ICICI Bank or Axis Bank credit card) | ₹3,000 exchange bonus | ₹79,999 |
| Moneycontrol sale-live, Oct 8, 2026 | ₹84,999 | ₹5,000 (Flipkart Axis Bank offer) | ₹7 SuperCoins | ₹79,992 |
Why you may see ₹86,999 or ₹99,900
The Flipkart Apple catalog view checked for this article showed the 256GB iPhone 17 at ₹86,999 in several colours. That is above the ₹84,999 sale price in the October 8 report. A catalog view is a snapshot of one moment, and an offer report is a snapshot of another, so the two can disagree. The sale coverage also cites a reference price of ₹99,900. Moneycontrol’s pre-sale article describes its ₹79,999 figure as ₹19,901 below that reference. A reference price is a comparison point, not a price anyone is required to charge.
Exchange: the headline is a ceiling, not a guaranteed saving
The sale coverage describes exchange discounts of up to ₹51,150, including an additional ₹3,000 benefit. That maximum applies only when the phone you trade in qualifies for it. The trade-in quote depends on the model you hand over, its condition, your location or pincode, the seller, and the eligibility rules shown at checkout. If you do not have a qualifying old phone, the exchange figure does not apply to you, and the price you pay is the cash price after the card and SuperCoin conditions.

What the listing says about the phone
The Flipkart listing describes the 256GB iPhone 17 with a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display, 48MP and 48MP rear cameras, an 18MP front camera, an A19 chip, and a one-year limited warranty. These are retailer listing details. They are not independent test results, and this article does not evaluate camera or battery performance. The 512GB iPhone 17 appears in the same catalog view at a higher price.

The deal applies to the 256GB model. If you expect to store large amounts of video, photos, or apps, the 512GB model may be the more relevant comparison, even though it costs more. Choose the storage you need first, then compare the checkout total for that exact variant. A lower price on a smaller storage tier is not a saving if you will need the larger tier within a year.

How to check the final price before you buy
Moneycontrol’s October 3 article makes the key point: “The final price, however, will depend on the buyer’s eligibility for the bank offer and exchange discount.” Use the following steps before you decide.
- Open the iPhone 17 256GB product page on Flipkart and select the colour and 256GB storage you want.
- Read every offer listed on the page, and note which ones require a specific bank card, a SuperCoin balance, or an exchange.
- Add the item to your cart and proceed to the checkout summary without placing an order.
- Confirm that the total includes only the offers you are eligible for, and that the bank card you plan to use is the card the offer names.
- If you plan to exchange a phone, enter your device’s model and condition to see the actual exchange quote, and compare it with the maximum shown.
- Check the seller, the warranty, and stock status shown at checkout before paying.
What this does and does not show
The reports show a dated, conditional price for one iPhone 17 variant on one marketplace. They do not show a market-wide ranking, a price history, or a guarantee that the offer will still be available when you read this. Prices, stock, and offer terms can change within a day. If the checkout total does not match the figures in this article, the checkout total is the figure that applies to you.
