Apple rates the cited Ireland Pro specification for up to 31 hours of video playback and the cited Latin America Pro Max specification for up to 39 hours. These are maximum playback figures based on Apple testing, not a prediction of everyday runtime. Actual battery life varies with use, settings, and other conditions. At the September 2025 launch, Apple said the iPhone 17 Pro Max “offers the best battery life ever in an iPhone”; that is Apple’s launch-era claim, not an independent comparative finding.
