What the iPhone 17 Air leak reportedly showed
On January 21, 2025, MacRumors reported that leaker Majin Bu had shared an alleged image of a component for the rumored ultra-thin iPhone. MacRumors characterized the image as blurry and pixelated. It appeared to show rear shells with a raised, pill-shaped bar across the top, a circular camera opening, a flash, and a microphone opening. Why people saw Pixel vibes
The resemblance is about the camera layout: a horizontal bar positioned high across the back, rather than the top-left camera placement associated with many earlier iPhones. MacRumors later compared the rumored layout with top-center or “runway-style” horizontal camera designs used on some Google Pixel phones. What Apple ultimately released
Apple’s official product page identifies the 2025 phone as iPhone Air, not iPhone 17 Air. Apple specifies a titanium design and a depth of 5.64 mm; its technical specifications also list a weight of 5.82 ounces (165 grams).
