Apple’s claim dat de iPhone 15 Pro en iPhone 15 Pro Max het equivalent van zeven pro-lenzen bieden, gaat over zeven bruikbare beeldhoeken—not zeven losse fysieke lenzen. Drie daarvan zijn standen van de 48MP-hoofdcamera; het belangrijkste verschil tussen de twee modellen is de telecamera: 77 mm-equivalent op de Pro en 120 mm-equivalent op de Pro Max.
Welke brandpuntsafstanden heeft de iPhone 15 Pro?
De genoemde waarden zijn 35mm-equivalenten: ze beschrijven de beeldhoek alsof die van een kleinbeeldcamera komt, niet de fysieke brandpuntsafstand van de kleine telefoonoptiek. Op de iPhone 15 Pro zijn de zeven keuzes 13, 24, 28, 35, 48, 77 en 120 mm niet allemaal beschikbaar: de Pro heeft de 77mm-telecamera, terwijl de 120mm-telecamera bij de Pro Max hoort. Apple’s productaankondiging noemt de gecombineerde opties van de Pro-familie het equivalent van zeven pro-lenzen.

Nee. De zeven tellen equivalente beeldhoeken, niet fysieke achtercamera’s. De 13mm-ultragroothoek, hoofdcamera en telecamera zijn afzonderlijke cameramodules. De 24, 28 en 35 mm zijn keuzes van de hoofdcamera; 48 mm is een 2x-uitsnede van de 48MP-sensor. Apple beschrijft de 28- en 35mm-keuzes als populaire brandpuntsafstanden die naast 24 mm kunnen worden gebruikt. Dat maakt de hoofdcamera veelzijdiger, maar voegt geen extra fysieke lens toe.

Hoe kies je 24, 28 of 35 mm als standaard?
Op ondersteunde modellen kun je een standaardbrandpuntsafstand voor de hoofdcamera kiezen. Apple documenteert deze bediening voor de iPhone 15 Pro- en Pro Max-familie en noemt ook de iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max en iPhone 17 Pro/Pro Max. De beschikbare telecamera kan per model verschillen; ondersteuning voor deze instelling betekent dus niet dat alle generaties hetzelfde telebereik hebben.

- Open Instellingen.
- Tik op Camera.
- Tik op Hoofdcamera.
- Kies de gewenste standaardbrandpuntsafstand, zoals 24, 28 of 35 mm, als die op jouw model wordt aangeboden.
De gekozen standaard verandert de startbeeldhoek van de hoofdcamera; je kunt tijdens het fotograferen nog steeds een andere beschikbare stand kiezen. Raadpleeg Apple’s handleiding voor het aanpassen van de hoofdcameralens voor de ondersteunde modellen en bediening.

Welke beeldhoek moet je gebruiken?
- 13 mm: voor een zeer ruime beeldhoek, bijvoorbeeld bij een groot gebouw of een krappe binnenruimte.
- 24 mm: de standaardkeuze van de hoofdcamera; geschikt als je een brede, natuurlijke scène wilt vastleggen.
- 28 mm: iets nauwer kaderen dan 24 mm, zonder naar de telecamera over te schakelen.
- 35 mm: een nog strakker kader voor onderwerpen die je niet zo ruim in beeld wilt zetten.
- 48 mm: 2x-kadrering via de hoofdcamerasensor, bruikbaar om een onderwerp groter in beeld te brengen zonder de afzonderlijke telecamera te gebruiken.
- 77 mm of 120 mm: gebruik de telecamera wanneer je een onderwerp op afstand strakker wilt kaderen; welke van die twee je hebt, hangt af van Pro of Pro Max.
De getallen helpen vooral bij het voorspellen van de beeldhoek: een hoger equivalent getal geeft een nauwer kader. De juiste keuze hangt af van de gewenste compositie, niet van een algemene rangorde in kwaliteit.
