The Ionmax Leone ION625 is a compressor dehumidifier with a manufacturer-rated extraction rate of 25 L per day at 30°C and 80% relative humidity. CHOICE lists a recommended room volume of up to 95 m³, but marks the model discontinued. Its published specifications make it worth considering for a suitable space, but they do not establish how well it performs in a particular home: CHOICE’s detailed test results and running-cost figures are not available in its public listing.
What the ION625 is—and what its rating means
Ionmax identifies the Leone ION625 as a compressor dehumidifier that uses R290 refrigerant. The manufacturer’s 25 L/day figure applies at 30°C and 80% relative humidity; it is a rated capacity under that condition, not a promise that the machine will collect that much water in a cooler or drier room. The figure is specified in the Ionmax Leone user manual, dated 8 September 2022.
CHOICE describes the ION625 as a refrigeration dehumidifier and lists a maximum recommended room volume of 95 m³. That listing is useful for comparison, but its detailed test findings and cost results require membership, so the public information does not support an independent performance or value verdict.

Will it suit your room?
Use the 95 m³ figure as a room-volume reference, not a guarantee of moisture removal. To estimate volume, multiply the room’s floor area by its ceiling height. For example, a 30 m² room with a 2.5 m ceiling is 75 m³. Room temperature and humidity matter too: the rated 25 L/day applies only at the warmer, humid condition stated by Ionmax.

The manual recommends using the unit in a room larger than 4 m² with adequate air circulation. It lets you set a target humidity from 30% to 80% RH in 5-point increments, but specifies a ±10% RH tolerance for the displayed reading. Treat the display as a guide rather than a precision instrument.
The manufacturer provides auto and continuous laundry modes. The latter may suit indoor clothes drying, but the sources do not establish drying time or measured performance for a particular load or room.

Tank emptying, drainage and filter upkeep
The removable tank holds 4 L. How often it needs emptying depends on how much moisture the unit collects. For ongoing operation, the manual also describes continuous drainage and says a drainage hose is provided. Route the hose as directed by the manual and make sure the discharge point is suitable; do not assume an unverified replacement hose will fit.

- Clean it gently with a soft-brush vacuum, or rinse it with water.
- Let it dry completely before reinstalling it.
- Do not operate the unit without the filter.
Empty the tank before storing the dehumidifier. For long-term storage, the manual advises cleaning and drying the tank and filter, then keeping the unit upright in a cool, dry, ventilated area.
Setup and safe operation
The ION625 is intended for indoor use. Place it on a stable, level surface, keep the air inlets and outlets clear, and leave at least 30 cm between the unit and curtains or other objects. The manual also warns against using it in a small, confined or unventilated area.

The manual identifies R290 as flammable and says only qualified technicians should service the sealed refrigerant loop. If the unit has been tilted or laid on its back, leave it upright for at least one hour before switching it on. Its compressor has a three-minute restart delay; a pause before restarting can therefore be normal.

Is the ION625 a good buy now?
The available evidence supports a specification-based assessment, not a hands-on review verdict. CHOICE’s public listing marks the ION625 discontinued, and its detailed test results and running costs are behind its membership wall. The public sources also do not establish measured noise, current replacement-part availability or present retail stock.
If you find one for sale, confirm that the listing is for the exact ION625 model and check the unit’s condition, warranty coverage and availability of service or parts before buying. Search for “Ionmax Leone ION625 dehumidifier”; do not assume a listing is current just because it appears in search results. Ionmax lists the Leone Pro ION626 separately, so its features and specifications should not be treated as those of the ION625.
How to compare it with another dehumidifier
- Compare extraction ratings only when their temperature and humidity conditions are stated.
- Check the recommended room volume against your room’s volume and likely temperature.
- Weigh the 4 L tank against the convenience of continuous drainage.
- Look for independently published noise and running-cost figures; the public ION625 listing does not provide them.
- Compare humidity controls, modes, app support, filter upkeep, warranty and model availability.
CHOICE provides an independent listing and model-status information, while the manual is the primary source for the ION625’s operating instructions and manufacturer specifications. Individual customer reports can offer anecdotes, but they do not establish typical performance across owners.
