Intel’s 13th-generation Raptor Lake-T desktop CPUs appeared in a German retailer’s listings in February 2023, with reported prices from €145 to €629. Those are historical CaseKing prices—not current U.S. street prices. The T models keep the corresponding desktop parts’ core counts while using lower clocks and a lower maximum turbo power to suit compact, quieter systems.
What did the six Raptor Lake-T CPUs cost at launch?
HotHardware reported on February 13, 2023, that German retailer CaseKing had listed all six 13th-generation Raptor Lake-T desktop models. The U.S. dollar figures below are HotHardware’s approximate conversions at the time, not current exchange-rate calculations or current U.S. prices.
| Model | CaseKing listing (Germany) | Approx. USD conversion in HotHardware’s report | Cores / threads | Maximum turbo frequency |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Core i9-13900T | €629 | $674 | 24 (8P + 16E) / 32 | 5.3 GHz |
| Core i7-13700T | €439 | $470 | 16 (8P + 8E) / 24 | 4.9 GHz |
| Core i5-13600T | €289 | $309 | 14 (6P + 8E) / 20 | 4.8 GHz |
| Core i5-13500T | €265 | $284 | 14 (6P + 8E) / 20 | 4.6 GHz |
| Core i5-13400T | €255 | $273 | 10 (6P + 4E) / 16 | 4.4 GHz |
| Core i3-13100T | €145 | $155 | 4 (4P) / 8 | 4.2 GHz |
HotHardware said the listed prices matched those of the corresponding non-T models. The report is a snapshot of a German retailer’s 2023 listings; it does not establish September 2026 availability or pricing in the United States. Read HotHardware’s report.

These are 35 W-class desktop processors designed around a lower processor base power than standard desktop models. Intel achieves that lower power profile by reducing base and boost clocks and limiting maximum turbo power. The core counts and other key characteristics, including cache, remain aligned with the corresponding desktop die, according to HotHardware.

The i9-13900T illustrates the trade-off: its P-core base clock is 1.1 GHz and its maximum boost is 5.3 GHz, with 106 W maximum turbo power. The regular Core i9-13900 is listed at 2.0 GHz base and 5.6 GHz boost, with 219 W maximum turbo power. Those specifications describe different power and frequency limits; they do not, by themselves, establish a particular performance difference in an application.
Who should consider a Raptor Lake-T CPU?
Compact or airflow-constrained systems
A lower power budget can make a T model easier to cool in a small-form-factor PC, home-theater PC (HTPC), or other enclosure with limited airflow. Depending on the build, keeping CPU heat and cooling demands lower may also leave more thermal headroom for a discrete graphics card. Actual temperatures and fan noise depend on the chassis, cooler, workload, and system configuration.

Systems that need maximum sustained CPU clocks
If the priority is the highest sustained CPU performance and the case and cooler can handle it, compare a T model with its regular non-T counterpart. The T chip’s lower clock and turbo-power limits are the defining compromise, so the suffix is not automatically an upgrade simply because the processor is newer or has many cores.

Are T-series processors worth paying extra for?
There is no universal premium to apply to the T suffix. In HotHardware’s February 2023 CaseKing snapshot, the T models were reported at prices matching the corresponding non-T parts. That historical listing cannot tell you whether a T model costs more or less at a particular retailer today.

Compare the actual prices available to you alongside the CPU’s core and thread count, maximum turbo frequency, processor base power, maximum turbo power, cache, integrated graphics, motherboard and socket compatibility, and your cooler and noise constraints. Specifications alone are not a substitute for workload-specific benchmarks, and the evidence cited here does not establish comparative benchmark results.

The later Core i9-14900T is a separate, 14th-generation successor—not one of the six 13th-generation CPUs in the CaseKing listing. Intel specifies 24 cores (8 performance and 16 efficient), 32 threads, 36 MB Intel Smart Cache, 35 W processor base power, 106 W maximum turbo power, and up to 5.5 GHz turbo for the 14900T. Intel gives it a $549 recommended customer price, but explicitly describes RCP as pricing guidance: actual point-of-sale prices vary by market, taxes, and promotions.
