Intel’s official name for the Series 2 laptop processor family is Intel Core Ultra 200HX—not “Core 2000HX.” “Core HX” is too broad to identify a particular generation or processor, so compare the exact chip and laptop model rather than the shorthand. The HX label points to a mobile processor line used in high-performance gaming laptops; it does not guarantee a particular laptop’s speed, cooling, battery life, or value.
Is “Core 2000HX” the same as Intel Core Ultra 200HX?
In this context, “Core 2000HX” most likely means Intel Core Ultra 200HX. Intel’s naming guide says a Core Ultra processor number beginning with 2 identifies Series 2. Intel’s product materials call the laptop family Core Ultra 200HX, so “Core 2000HX” should not be treated as its official family name. Intel’s Core Ultra processor naming guide explains the series numbering.
“Core HX” alone is not a precise comparison target. It can refer to an HX processor without identifying its family or generation. To compare two laptops, look up the full processor name in each listing and compare the complete configurations.
What do Series 2 and HX tell you?
Series 2 is the generation cue
In Intel Core Ultra naming, the leading 2 indicates Series 2. The number answers a generation question; it does not, by itself, tell you how a particular laptop performs.

HX identifies a mobile processor line, not the whole laptop
Intel describes Core Ultra 200HX systems as high-performance gaming laptops. That is useful context, but the processor is only one part of a laptop. Graphics hardware, cooling, power limits, memory, and chassis design can all affect real-world performance and comfort.
Intel’s general suffix reference describes H as “High performance optimized for mobile.” The displayed table does not define HX, so it is not a basis for treating H and HX as interchangeable. Intel’s processor-suffix reference lists the suffix definitions it provides.

- 10 cores (6 P-cores + 4 E-cores) and 14 threads.
- Performance hybrid architecture integrates two core microarchitectures, prioritizing and distributing workloads to optimize performance
- Up to 4.9 GHz. 22 MB Cache
- Compatible with Intel 800 series chipset-based motherboards
- PCIe 5.0 & 4.0 support. Intel Optane Memory support. No thermal solution included. Discrete graphics required
What does 200HX Plus add?
Intel says Core Ultra 200HX Plus processors launched in early 2026 and describes “Plus” as refinements to architecture and platform. That is Intel’s product characterization, not proof that every 200HX Plus laptop is faster in every game or workload. Compare independent tests of the exact laptop models and configurations you are considering. Intel’s Core Ultra Series 2 product page includes its current product information and FAQ.
How should you compare Core Ultra 200HX laptops?
Start with the use that matters to you—such as gaming at a particular resolution, creative work, or everyday use—then compare the systems on the factors that shape that experience:
Rank #3
- 24 cores (8 P-cores + 16 E-cores) and 24 threads. Integrated Intel Graphics included
- Performance hybrid architecture integrates two core microarchitectures, prioritizing and distributing workloads to optimize performance
- Up to 5.6 GHz. 40 MB Cache
- Compatible with Intel 800 series chipset-based motherboards
- Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0, and PCIe 5.0 & 4.0 support. Intel Optane Memory support. No thermal solution included
- Exact processor and graphics: Record the complete CPU model and the GPU model. A CPU family name alone does not establish the laptop’s graphics performance.
- Cooling and sustained power: Look for reviews that test performance over time, not just a brief burst. Cooling design and manufacturer power settings affect sustained results, fan noise, and heat.
- Memory: Check capacity and configuration on the exact SKU. Do not assume two laptops with the same processor ship with the same memory.
- Display: Compare resolution, refresh rate, panel characteristics, and size against your intended games or work.
- Portability and battery: Compare weight, chassis dimensions, and tested battery runtime. High-performance hardware does not establish how long a particular laptop lasts away from a charger.
- Connectivity and price: Check the ports you need and compare the price of the same configuration, rather than relying on a family label or a starting price.
- Independent testing: Prefer reviews of the specific laptop model that cover your workload, thermals, noise, and battery behavior.
How to interpret Intel’s HX power figures
Intel’s 2026 power-specification table lists 55 W processor base power, 45 W minimum assured power, and a 65 W maximum assured-power setting for listed HX configurations. These are processor specifications, not measurements of total laptop power draw or guarantees of sustained performance in every laptop. The manufacturer’s implementation and cooling still matter. Intel’s processor base-power and thermal specifications provides the relevant table.
