INC Ransom reportedly listed Northern Counties Health Care, Inc. (NCHC) on its leak site and claimed it took internal data. The claim had not been independently verified in reporting published October 2, 2026, and NCHC had not publicly confirmed a breach as of the reporting reviewed. No confirmed data categories or affected-person count have been reported.

What is known about the claim

The reported event is a claim by INC Ransom, a ransomware group—not a confirmed finding that NCHC was breached or that patient information was accessed. GalaxyWarden reported that the listing did not identify specific data categories or the number of people affected; TechNadu said the claim had not been independently verified and details remained under review.

RansomLook tracked a listing titled “Northern Counties Health Care | Inc Ransom” at 16:55:53 UTC on October 1, 2026. That timestamp records when the public listing was tracked. It does not establish when an intrusion occurred or whether INC Ransom’s allegation is true. RansomLook’s recent-post listing corroborates the listing’s presence, not the alleged compromise.

Who Northern Counties Health Care is

NCHC is a Vermont nonprofit healthcare provider. Its services include primary care, dental care, home health and hospice, behavioral health, pharmacy, and related community services. The organization lists its administrative office in St. Johnsbury. Its official website is the appropriate place to check for organizational updates.

What information was exposed?

That has not been established in the reporting reviewed. The sources do not verify that data was accessed, identify a confirmed set of information involved, or provide a verified number of affected people. Any files or samples attributed to INC Ransom should be treated as the group’s allegation unless their authenticity and connection to NCHC are independently established.

Has NCHC confirmed the breach?

No public confirmation appears in the reporting reviewed. GalaxyWarden said NCHC had not publicly confirmed a breach as of its report; TechNadu also characterized the claim as unverified. These are time-bounded descriptions of what those outlets had found, not proof that the organization will never issue an update.

The sources reviewed do not include an NCHC incident disclosure, regulator finding, or independent forensic confirmation. For updates, check NCHC’s own site and privacy communications rather than treating a threat-group post or tracker entry as a verified incident notice.

How patients can check for official information

Look for a direct notice

NCHC’s posted HIPAA privacy notice says: “We will let you know promptly if a breach occurs that may have compromised the privacy or security of your information.” This is general policy language in a notice effective March 1, 2020; it is not a statement that this claim has been confirmed. The notice applies to multiple NCHC entities, including Caledonia Home Health Care & Hospice, Concord Health Center, Danville Health Center, Hardwick Area Health Center, Island Pond Health & Dental Center, Northern Counties Dental Center, Orleans Dental Center, and St. Johnsbury Community Health Center. Read the posted privacy notice for its terms.

Use the appropriate contact channel

NCHC’s compliance reporting page identifies its Compliance and Privacy Officer as the recipient of compliance reports and warns visitors not to email personal health information. Patients seeking prompt medical advice should contact their service provider, as the page directs. Do not send medical details in an email or report through a channel that is not intended for them.
