“I run a small music and video studio in Seoul by myself, and working alone got depressing,” Banju wrote. His response was to create nojo, an online room designed to let friends work near one another and share music. That is his account of the experience—not a claim that solo work affects everyone the same way or that an online room is a mental-health treatment.
What nojo is meant to offer
Banju described nojo as a free, browser-based room where people can work alongside others. In a KVR Audio post dated September 23, 2026, he said guests could enter without downloading software or signing up. Those details come from the creator’s post; they are not independent confirmation of how the service works today.
The concept combines two kinds of space: an office for quiet, parallel work and a bar-like area for casual conversation and music. Banju summarized the idea as “an online room to hang out with friends while we work.”
How the office and music areas are described
An office for working near other people
In Banju’s description, the office has desks and proximity-based voice: people can work quietly, then walk over to someone nearby to talk. The aim is ambient company rather than a scheduled meeting where everyone must speak or keep a camera on.
#1 Best Overall
- THE ORIGINAL & THE BEST — Snap Studio invented the portable vocal booth category. A pop-up recording booth for singers, voiceover artists, podcasters and rappers.
- CLEAN, DRY VOCALS AT HOME — heavy-duty Pro Sound Blankets absorb the reflections that make home recordings sound boxy, so your takes come out clear and professional.
- SETS UP IN MINUTES — fits performers up to 6 ft 8 in with 5.5 sq ft of room inside on a 33 x 33 in footprint, then packs into one duffel bag for travel.
- THE COMPLETE RECORDING KIT — wireless multicolor LED lights with remote control, smartphone and tablet mount, mic adapter and diamond-stitched duffel bag. Style may vary.
- CLEAN AND DRY RECORDINGS — echo reducing, reverb absorbing and lightly decibel reducing. We never overpromise: it is not soundproof, and it performs best in an already-quiet space.
A bar for playing and sharing music
The room also has a bar area with a microphone and a piano. Banju says the piano is connected to his real piano, allowing visitors to play, and that people can share what they are working on. This is a creator-reported feature, not an independently tested description of the room’s current setup.
Who is there, according to its creator?
Banju said there are usually “7 or 8 people” in the room, many of them his friends. That is an anecdotal attendance estimate from his post, not a published or independently verified user count. A VI-CONTROL community post also describes the office-and-piano-bar concept, corroborating that it was discussed in a music-production community but not verifying current operation.

What the account does—and does not—establish
The available descriptions explain the intended experience: work in the presence of others, talk when someone is nearby, and optionally share music. They do not establish that nojo is currently available or that its access process remains as described in the September 2026 post. The community posts also do not document privacy terms, moderation practices, independent usage figures, or measured effects on mood or productivity. No conclusion about those issues should be inferred from the creator’s account.
For readers drawn to the idea, the useful distinction is between ambient company and a formal call: nojo is presented as a room where people can work separately while remaining close enough to interact. Whether that arrangement suits someone—and whether the service’s present access and policies meet their needs—cannot be determined from these descriptions alone.
