IKEA’s PAPEGOJBUSKE is a 33 × 45 cm ergonomic foam pillow designed for side and back sleepers. IKEA’s regional listings describe its shape, materials and care instructions, but do not establish how comfortable or supportive it is in independent testing. This is therefore a specification-based review, not a hands-on verdict.
What is the IKEA PAPEGOJBUSKE?
PAPEGOJBUSKE is IKEA’s ergonomic pillow for side and back sleeping. The Indonesia listing identifies it by article number 305.528.44. IKEA describes its varying heights and shaped foam as intended to support the head, neck and shoulders; that is the manufacturer’s stated purpose, not an independently demonstrated health or sleep outcome. IKEA Indonesia and IKEA Taiwan both list the product as an ergonomic pillow for side and back sleepers.

How IKEA says to use it
IKEA Indonesia’s instructions distinguish the two sleeping positions: side sleepers should use the higher part, while back sleepers should use the lower part. If you change positions, IKEA says you can turn the pillow around and decide which side suits you. These instructions explain the design’s intended use, but do not establish whether its shape or height will suit a particular person.

Cover care and foam maintenance
IKEA says the cover is removable and machine washable. The Indonesia listing gives a maximum wash temperature of 40°C and says the cover can be tumble-dried at low temperature, up to 60°C. IKEA says not to wash the foam pillow itself. Follow the care label supplied with your exact regional product if it differs from these listing details. IKEA Indonesia; IKEA Taiwan.
IKEA Indonesia also notes that the foam will turn yellow when exposed to oxygen and describes this as natural and inevitable. This note comes from that regional listing.
