The IKEA BRÄNDBO 905.576.50 is a 72-litre built-in electric oven with five cooking levels and nine functions. IKEA’s published specifications make it worth considering if its cabinet dimensions and electrical requirements suit your kitchen, but the available evidence is not enough to judge its real-world cooking performance: the feedback shown on IKEA New Zealand’s page comprised just two reviews, and the product documentation is not an independent test.
What is the IKEA BRÄNDBO 905.576.50?
This is the black IKEA 500 forced-air built-in oven identified by article number 905.576.50. IKEA lists touch controls and a knob, five cooking levels, top and bottom heating, grill and turbo grill, and a child-safety lock. Its manual describes nine functions in total. The product page says forced-air convection spreads heat quickly and evenly and allows several dishes to cook at once without flavours spreading; that is IKEA’s claim, not an independently verified performance result. Will it fit your kitchen?
IKEA publishes external dimensions of 59.4 cm wide, 56.7 cm deep and 58.9 cm high. The manual gives internal dimensions of 480 × 361 × 416 mm (width × height × depth) and a baking-tray area of 1,438 cm². The stated cavity capacity is 72 L. Compare the external dimensions with your cabinet opening and allow for any clearances or ventilation specified for your kitchen and installation; the published measurements alone do not confirm compatibility with a particular cabinet.
Before buying, check the installation requirements for your location. IKEA’s New Zealand product page specifies 220–240 V and a minimum 16 A fuse, says the oven is supplied without a plug, and requires installation by a qualified installer. Local electrical rules, wiring and cabinetry requirements may differ, so confirm them with a qualified local installer rather than assuming the New Zealand listing covers your market.

What comes with it, and what can it cook?
The listed accessories are one wire shelf, one baking tray and one grill tray. The documented functions include top and bottom heat, grill and turbo grill, alongside the oven’s forced-air cooking modes. These published features describe the available modes and included equipment; they do not establish how evenly or quickly the oven cooks in practice.
What do the energy figures mean?
IKEA’s manual reports energy class A+, an energy efficiency index of 81.2, and consumption of 0.69 kWh per cycle for a standard load in fan-forced mode. It also identifies one electric cavity with a 72 L volume. These are product-information figures for the specified standard-load mode, not a measurement of what a household will use across different recipes, temperatures or cooking habits.
