The Iiyama ProLite XUB2792QSU-B1 remains a capable 27-inch QHD office monitor on its specifications: it combines an IPS panel with a highly adjustable stand, several legacy video inputs and a USB hub. Its limitations are equally clear: it has no USB-C, its built-in speakers are modest, and Iiyama now lists the B1 as end of life (EOL), replaced by the XUB2792QSU-B5. IT Pro’s positive hands-on review dates to December 2020, so its praise is not a current comparison against newer displays.
Is the Iiyama XUB2792QSU-B1 good for office work?
Yes, if you want a 27-inch 2560 × 1440 display for general office work and value ergonomic adjustment and a broad selection of older video connections. The official specification describes a matte IPS LED panel with 350 cd/m² brightness, 1000:1 static contrast, 178-degree viewing angles and a 5 ms GTG response time. Iiyama lists 1.07 billion colors using 8-bit plus Hi-FRC and 100% sRGB as manufacturer specifications; those figures are distinct from independent test results.
In a review published on 18 December 2020, IT Pro’s Tim Danton measured 99.3% sRGB coverage, average Delta E 0.28 and 1,227:1 contrast. In the selected i-Style Standard profile, the review measured brightness at 335 cd/m². These are the reviewer’s measurements from that review, not results reproduced here. Danton’s assessment was that the monitor excelled as a workday screen, while recommending wider-gamut displays for color-sensitive work. Read the IT Pro review.
What refresh rate does it support?
For supported modes, use Iiyama’s interface-specific figures: up to 70 Hz at native 2560 × 1440 over DisplayPort, and up to 60 Hz over HDMI or DVI. IT Pro’s 2020 review lists a 75 Hz peak refresh rate, but that differs from the current manufacturer specification. Buyers should rely on the official input-specific limits when planning a setup, rather than treating the B1 as a modern high-refresh gaming display. Iiyama also specifies Adaptive Sync over DisplayPort up to 2560 × 1440 at 70 Hz.
#1 Best Overall
- Featuring Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution and 10-point capacitive touch technology, the ProLite T2252MSC-B2AG delivers smooth, accurate touch experiences
- The IPS panel offers excellent image quality with outstanding color rendering even at wide viewing angles. An excellent choice for demanding interactive applications
- The flexible foot can be positioned at multiple angles. A pleasant and ergonomic user interface is thus guaranteed. HDMI, DisplayPort, HDCP, USB 3.2 signal inputs
- Edge to Edge glass and ultra-slim design ensure not only an eye-catcher of the device, but also high contrast values and brilliant colours, 2 x 1 W speakers
- The anti-glare coating prevents reflections caused by external light sources which can affect color rendering, contrast and sharpness. Ideal for interactive signage or for use in retail and kiosk systems
Does the XUB2792QSU-B1 have USB-C?
No. It has one DisplayPort input, one HDMI input, one DVI input, two USB 3.0 downstream ports rated at 5 V/900 mA, and a headphone connector. The USB ports provide a hub, not USB-C video, laptop charging or a one-cable docking connection. A laptop without these video outputs may need an appropriate adapter, and the monitor will not replace a USB-C dock.
The integrated speakers are rated at 2 × 2 W. IT Pro described their quality as poor, so they are best treated as a basic convenience rather than a substitute for dedicated speakers or headphones.

Can the stand rotate vertically?
Yes. The stand’s adjustment range is unusually useful for an office display: 130 mm of height travel, 90-degree pivot for portrait orientation, swivel 45 degrees in either direction, and tilt from 5 degrees down to 22 degrees up. The monitor also supports 100 × 100 mm VESA mounting if you prefer a separate arm or mount. Iiyama lists power, USB, HDMI and DisplayPort cables as included.
Should you choose QHD or 4K at 27 inches?
The B1’s 2560 × 1440 resolution offers more workspace than Full HD without the pixel density of a 27-inch 4K screen. QHD can be a practical balance for documents, browser windows and general multitasking; 4K offers finer detail but may require different display scaling and a more capable computer connection. The right trade-off depends on your eyesight, applications and preference for sharper text versus interface size. The B1 itself is QHD, not 4K.

Is it suitable for color-sensitive work?
Its tested sRGB coverage and Delta E results were strong in IT Pro’s 2020 review, but that does not establish performance in wider color spaces or suitability for every color-managed workflow. The manufacturer’s 100% sRGB figure is a specification, while the review’s 99.3% figure is a measurement made under its own test conditions. For work that depends on a wider gamut, such as demanding photo or video color grading, Danton recommended looking at wider-gamut panels instead.

Iiyama’s Great Britain product page marks the XUB2792QSU-B1 as EOL and names the ProLite XUB2792QSU-B5 as its replacement. That lifecycle information identifies a successor, but it does not establish that the B5 has the same specifications or performance; check the B5’s own listing before comparing it. The B1’s present stock, price and warranty terms are not established here, and may vary by seller and region. Check iiyama’s Great Britain listing for the B1.

Who should still consider the B1?
- It may suit you if you find a remaining unit with acceptable seller terms, need QHD for everyday work, value the full ergonomic stand and can use DisplayPort, HDMI or DVI.
- Look elsewhere if USB-C video and charging are central to your desk, you need a higher refresh rate, want 4K at 27 inches, or require wider-gamut color performance.
- Compare the named successor carefully rather than assuming it carries over the B1’s panel, inputs, stand or measured image quality.
